Cardio Queen
Apparently I’m not very good at blogging on weekends so I guess I’ll have to do some back pedaling…
Friday I had one of the best workouts ever. I ate half of double bacon cheese burger (which I took off the bacon and gave to my husband) from A&W for lunch so I was feeling pretty guilty when I left for the gym. Well I guess all that guilt payed off b/c I totally went at it once I got there. I ran (with a tiny bit of walking) 6 miles in under an hour! First time going that far, especially in the time I pulled. Super proud about that. I probably could have kept going but Christian (my 8 month old) started getting fussy so I finished with 13 hard mins on the bike and the walk home. Once I got home I worked on abs and did some push ups. I really wish I had a home gym, but since I don’t I’m starting to get creative with different using-your-own-body-weight work outs. If you have any great ones you know of, send them my way. Thanks.
Sat was a bit of a lazy day, but I got an awesome new pair of running shoes for Mother’s Day so I took those out for a quick run on the track… very nice, very nice indeed. I have visions of running excellence for these amazing shoes. Finished the night with some dips and push ups (I can probably do 10 real push-ups now… sad by some people’s standards I’m sure). I’m also starting to get a desire to lift with my legs so I also did some squats.
As for the bad part: With holidays comes delicious meals so I am guilty of a little too much alcohol and desert this weekend. It’s okay though, I’ve decided to commit to 5 good days of eating clean (easier to do when the husband works) plus I have some pretty intense workouts in store for myself. Woohoo!
Ciao! Bacio!

Heavy weight liftin is what shapes and restructure the human form not running. Everyone needs reshaping. Being cardiovscularly fit is an adorable novelty but how impressive is some person who can run alot compared to the physique of a superhero. i’m just saying people should demand more shape size and developement out of their bodies, regardless of age/sex.gender/aspiration.

Ok, you bring the weight lifting machines to my house and I’ll do more weight lifting, happy? Sorry… the gym I go to (stationed in Italy) doesn’t have daycare so I go to a hole in the wall that has treadmills, bikes and ellipticals. Oh, I mention the 5 pound dumb bells.
I love to lift weights as much as the next person, but sometimes that isn’t always feasible for me. Either way, I like to document whatever form of physical activity I get, be it weight lifting or cardio… adorable novelty NOT included. If you have a problem, take it somewhere else. Thanks.

If you can get your hands on some free-weights and a stability ball, you could do a pretty decent home work-out. Burpees are a ‘fun’ whole body workout, and of course lunges and squats are always great for your lower body.
It sucks that your gym doesn’t have daycare or real weights. Hopefully you’ll find a way to make it work for you! Great job on the 6 miles in an hour!! I hope your new shoes give you wings!

I do have a stability ball (thankfully), and I’ve been thinking about buying a weight set but I need to save a little before I can do that.
Thanks for the encouragement
). Have a good one!!
