Protein Pancakes or Waffles
I’ve been experimenting with a few recipes for Protein Pancakes. Here is one I made today. I also included the basic nutrional breakdown:
- 1 full scoop vanilla protein powder (23 grams) 90 cals;19 g protein;2g carb;1 g fat
-
2 tbsp whole oats 150 cals;27g carb;5 g protein; 3 g fat
-
1 egg 78 cals; .6 g carb 6.3 g protein 5.3 g fat
-
1/2 cup fortified skim milk 50 cals;8.5g carb;5.5 g protein; 0 fat
-
2 packets Splenda
-
1/4 tsp baking soda
-
1/4 tsp vanilla
-
Sprinkle of Cinnamon
-
Total 368 cals; 38.1 g carb; 35.8 g protein; 9.3 g fat
-
Makes two large pancakes!! So I normally cut the recipe in half

If you want to make it even cleaner and lower in fat and calories you can substitute the whole egg for two egg whites and the 1/2 cup skim milk with 1/2 cup water. If you are cutting your carbs, try the recipe without the oats. It still works!

You can serve with sugar free maple syrup
