All in the Family!

Hi Everyone!  Well, as some of you may already know I started this fitness lifestyle about 6-7 months ago.   And I love what it has done for my body, my health and my spirit.  About three months ago I was joined by my baby Sister Nitsa (Bodyspace name SurfSunSandSis) who has had fantastic results so far and is still working hard everyday and enjoying herself too in the process.  Well I have some great news.  Today my oldest sister, Angie (she’s in charge!) is celebrating her birthday along with Easter Sunday and asked if I would send her some info about the program we have been doing and that she is ready to start!!!  I am so excited, she is beautiful and shapely and I just know she would do amazingly well because she has determination like nothing you’ve seen.  The woman puts her mind to something and lookout! So, I am going to send her some info including some links from here to some of my BB.com friends that I am so proud of and I really hope she decides to join all of us!  Now…if only I could recruit my nieces and my brother…give me some time!

Legs. legs. Summer 2008

Hey, like many of us in the cold weather climate, I am looking forward to the spring and summer weather!!  I am working on my legs and would really like to see more definition.  I think I need to step up my cardio a bit.  Maybe to three days a week from the two I am currently doing.  Don’t want to lose too much muscle.  I am thinking about doing legs twice a week.  Any thoughts on this?  I appreciate your feedback!

Six Pack 2008 Update..

OK…definitely seeing progress…especially the obliques!! Adding weight to my sit ups and leg lifts have definitely made a difference.  Need to clean up the diet a bit in the next few weeks.  So far , so good!!  I’ll have to post a pic when I’m done!!  Yikes!!

Six Pack 2008!!!

OK ..well I’ve set another fitness goal for 2008 and this one is just around the corner.  I want a six pack by the end of January.  I’ll be celebrating my birthday hopefully on a beach somewhere warm and tropical in a teeny bikini and I want to have well defined abs.  I think I can do it!!!  Starting to see some muscularity in my tummy and now I need to build more muscle and reduce my bodyfat %age a bit more. I’d appreciate any tips or advice!  Thanks everyone!!!

Hi all.  Woke up this morning with a scratchy throat.  I’ve been in denial that I’m sick all day but I’m feeling pretty crummy right now.  This is my first time being sick in three years!!!  I forgot how miserable it can be.  Feeling a bit achy (or am I sore? lol!) and my throat is dry and a bit sore.  Guess I should take a rest day??  Just when I was really making progress!  AAArrrggghhhhh !!!  I’d appreciate your input.  Thanks everyone. 

One Arm Push Ups 2008!!

Hi Everyone.  Well I’ve been thinking about what goals I want to set for myself in 2008 and the list is growing quickly!!!  Fitness is on top of the list, of course, so I decided I’m going to break them down in my blog journal. 

I’m starting with push ups!!!!!  14 weeks ago I began my structured weight training and clean eating regimen and so far it has been great.  When I started I couldn’t do ANY regular push ups..Zero! None! Nada! 0!   About three weeks later I managed to do three, barely. But I was excited.  During week 10 I actually did 5 full push ups!! Yeah!!  And today….I did 8.  Nice round number ;)  

My goal for 2008 is to do One Arm Push Ups…A la Demi Moore on Letterman!  Ha!  Am I crazy???

 I started out by doing push ups on my sitting bench at the foot of my bed   ( I workout at home).  Then I moved on to bended knee push ups.  Some people like to call them ‘girly push ups’.   Not so nice IMO. lol! 

 I’ll keep you all posted on my progress. And hopefully I’ll be able to post pics of me doing one armed push ups in 2008!!  What’s a girl to wear for such an occasion!!!  Ha!!  I appreciate any input or advice and I would especially love to hear anyone’s own experience in being able to conquer these!!!

Wow… check out this woman’s transformation.  I noticed that many people on BB.com have completed the program at Body For Life.  This woman had severe cellulite, rolls and all and she completely changed her body.  Amazing.   I’m totally stunned.

Frog Squats

Discovered frog squats today.  Wow!  These really isolate the thighs and if you place your elbows by your knees you can feel it work your lower inner thighs…a tough area to isolate in my opinion.  Especially for me since I work out at home. I’ll definitely be feeling these tomorrow!!
