MOTIVATION

So, I go to bed late Sunday, the cat wakes me at 4 AM, the alarm goes off at 5 - time for cardio!  Now, I am seriously debating just skipping it.  One day is not gonna make a difference?  One cardio session in the morning is no big deal - especially on weight training day - Right?   It is one of those moments when I really appreciated this site because I had just compared my latest Progress Pic to when I started 2 years ago.  It is not where I finally want to be but

1. It told me that I did not get here by laying in bed

2.  I won’t get where I want to go laying in bed

3. If I want more sack time - then go to bed earlier!

Starting off the week in a few hours with cardio but wanted to thank everyone who posted this weekend. I saw a lot of inspirational and motivational postings shared.  Even though I only commented on a few - many more helped me.  So - thanks to all and keep training!

Week 2 Closing out

Killer week but really seeing improvement in just the last 2 weeks.  Dialing in the meal plan is a critical success factor.  Several days went WAYYY negative on calories even though they were balanced well.  Dropped some muscle but overall was just a flattening effect.  Got a lock on my numbers going into this week so looking forward to some real progress. Loaded latest workouts and a shaved picture since I had never done that before.  Seeing strength increases due to muscle confusion/ volume training so very pleased overall.  Let me know how you all are doing out there!

Caching Up

OK - I am skipping Week 1 days 5-7 and recapping Week 2 Days 1 and 2.  Kept pretty strict on the diet but definitely not up to par on total calories or on sleep.  Aside from that, adding cardio to my routine has seemed to help that lean look at rest but not must else.  We will see what the cumulative effect is.  My "Angel Kim" says that she sees a difference but I think it is the shaving.  Oh - yeah - I also decided to see what a whole body shave felt like.  Not too bad for my first experience - and it really makes a difference on how clearly seperations can be seen.  Cool.

Day 4 - Chest, Tri, Abs

Second hit at chest and abs.  Hitting different angles on chest with more dumbell work - good stuff. Really trying to focus on improving form for ab section.  Got to hit lower abs better.

Day 3 - Cardio Only

So far - on track with exercise but struggling to get the calories in.  I also think I need more sleep.  Funny how much effort it takes to move the lifestyle to the next level.  It makes the previous effort level look easy even though it did not feel that way at the time.  Much respect for those folks on here who have been doing the deal for years.  Very inspirational!

Day 2 - Time Crunch

Not much time but the back, bis, and abs workout had to be rushed but I managed to stay pretty much on track and added the workout online.  TOmorrow is cardio only so I should have more time to blog.

Day 1 - Change is good

Hit treadmill first thing in the morning - a first for me.  Also - tracking my diet and looks pretty good. Tough to hit 4000 plus calories but what I ate was clean and managed 3500.  Added my initial workout to the workout tracker.  While ego wants me to push more, I can tell the change of pace in this routine will do me good.  Now to eat that last meal of the day and get some rest for Day 2!

Day 0 - Go Time

Shaved

OK - TIme to kick off Week 1.  I have a modified routine from this month’s REP magazine that incorporates Back To The Beach with 5 Week Abs.  In honor of my first morning cardio ever (in 5 hours) I have also shaved for the first time.  Wish me luck on day 1 and I will post workout results later today ;-)

Easter Resolution? Nah- Just getting beach ready

OK - I am -1 day and counting to taking my journey to the next level!  I look forward to sharing the next 5-6 weeks as I integrate nutrition and a new workout regimen to shave off a few more percent bodyfat without losing too much weight or muscle!  Have a Happy Easter all and stay tuned ;-)
