Growing old gracefully…

It was suggested that I write a blog regarding a comment I made about age and looking good, so here it is.

Yesterday I went to our local mall, I hate going to the mall !!! but my daughter and her friend wanted to do some shopping so, I wondered around while they shopped.(I did get some stuff from Victoria’s Secret …shhhh!!!)

We were there early enough to miss all the little jerks that usually annoy me. There were alot of people closer to my age there, which was nice, I started noticing how many were out of shape. I mentioned this to someone here, I feel spoiled knowing  men his age who are in great shape, you tend to start comparing others at a new standard. You no longer see what most would deem natural progression of aging, as an acceptable way of life.

He mentioned that many people our age look like they are ready for "the home", and how we forget that, because we see the people here at bb.com. and how amazing an older body can look if one tries, he is right. We are all here for a reason, to be in the best shape and health of our lives, and we work very hard at it everyday. :)

Thanx for the idea. :) Hope you don’t mind me using some of your words… :)

Oh yeah - Greetings from the 8th fattest city in the US, and (I think) the 47th healthiest state. Fast food joints everywhere you look. It ain’t purty. Even scarier is meeting folks my age who look like they should be my parents age. Smoking, eating and sitting in that Lazy Boy recliner just doesn’t do a body good, that’s for sure.

I think I’ll pass on the Victoria’s Secret though. No butt-floss for me, thankyouverymuch… ;)

Okay you two … what makes you think that I was in V.S. buying frilly or thongy things ??? I bought my favorite shampoo and conditioner … MEN!!! ……well OK , I did buy one thong…. but it is really cute… and NO, you do not get to see it…. :)

Yes Bill it is nice to look good, and feel good. I push myself harder each workout because I know what the end result will be,it takes time, I workout 6 days a week, so I do consider myself a diehard Bodybuilder…

Yikes…that’s alot of fat people in OKC, it’s nice to see that you are not one of them, convience has absolutely destroyed this country as far as health goes. It is very sad to see people who look so much older, and when you tell them your age they don’t believe you … hahaha… I get a kick outta that ….
    Thanx …

I definitely agree that some people think that once they pass 40+ (or are married), that they tend to let themselves go… I hope I never become that and commit to my health and fitness just as you have, beautiful!! I’m STILL trying to work up to the 25 lb. dumbbell, lol
