Boot Camp lasted 6 weeks and so did I!

The Boot camp was great! It was grueling, hard, stressful, but worth it! I am also taking a cardio/strength training classes everyday. I’ve added Pilates, Zumba, The Core, and Fit & Fab. I really love Zumba, just don’t always feel totally coordinated! I’ve been riding my bike also!

Today’s WOD

I got to class a bit late… 6:05 am!

It was just me!!! So coach Eric had me warm up with squats, overhead squats, and 3 sets of sits and pushups.

The WOD today was 21, 15, 9 of Deadlifts and Kettlebell Swings.  I finished in 15:04 minutes.

The weight for the deadlifts was 135lbs and KB 25lbs. Woo Hoo!!!

As a person with type 2 diabetes, I stay motivated to get healthier! Since being diagnosed after an incredibly stressful life transition in 2002, I’ve struggled with keeping the weight off and keeping my body in proper homeostasis. In April 2008, my A1C was 7.1. People with type 2 diabetes are encouraged to be lower than 6.5.

I started a cleanse called ISAGENIX.  I did their 9 day cleanse, then started the 30 day cleanse. I was able to accomplish 3 months on the 30 day cleanse. After that I took a break and followed a healthier way of eating, using organic foods. I fell off the wagon a few times, my weakness is candy! Getting back on, I’ve been able to accomplish an amazing change for the better. I also had high cholestrol. I still drink the morning shake, and use the woman’s vitamins from their program.

I am currently in a healthier place with my blood sugar, cholestrol and other of health risks! My doctor gave me the green light to begin backing off the medications I take for the diabetes! My goal is to get off all medications and live free of the complications of this disease. I just started the Crossfit program to drop the unwanted weight in my mid-section and to improve my strength in all areas!

Crossfit!

Did a crossfit training this morning! Am way to sore.. walking like as slow as a turtle! LOL Trainer recommended showering - water on legs hot-cold-hot-cold. Did 4 sets of 15 for squats, sit-ups, and wall ball! It was completed in 15 minutes! My goal is to add sets!!! It was fun!! - but I’m aching! Looking forward to more!!!
