Getting Back!
Day 1 down of an eight week bulking program. Today (Jan. 1) was my first day back into the gym since my foot surgery (bone removed, two holes drilled into my foot and my tendon re-attached) since December 4th. Unfortunately, I am still in a walking boot for the next two to three weeks, but I still was able to get a very solid back workout in. Not only is getting back to the gym physically challenging, but mentally as well. Not being able to lift 100% as I was before the surgery and again, not being able to put intense pressure on my foot, I have to go be smart with my lifts, squeeze every rep, and still get a great pumping workout using about 75% of the normal weight I would be able to lift. Forturnately, being out of the gym for four weeks, I was able to do plenty of reading and educating myself on some incredible workouts that I plan to use the next month. All in all I was very pleased with the first day back and I am exremely excited about day two tomorrow!
