Welp I tweaked my right shoulder blade while doing standing curls with 30lbs on each side of the "cheater bar" which is the smaller bar. It started to not feel right so I just stopped lifting and it’s been sore ever sense. I’ve decided to take my my first actual "break" since hitting it back hard in January. I must say that going to the gym every other day has become almost an obsession, but I’ll take a week or two off at most. It has been feeling better, but I’ve had to be careful on how I sleep and stuff. I’ll try to work in some actual back exercises now to help prevent something like this from happening in the future. It’s been almost a week so in another week I’ll hit I’ll be headed back into the gym again.

Well back into the grind! Currently I’ve been able to stay on track with keeping my work out going after getting back from leave and visiting my family. The hardest part is to keep my eating up, but for the most part I’ve been able to stay clean and keep my gains that I had made while deployed. My weight is hovering around 185/186 and I’m still making gains on the bench and curls so I’m happy to say that I didn’t falter once I got back. Alot of the people I talked to who where deployed with me weren’t able to stick with it so for that I’m proud that I’ve been able to keep working out no matter what comes up.

Starting to get settled in after my trip back. Being home has really thrown off my sleeping and eating wow I wasn’t really expecting it to affect my body as much as it has. I’m back down to 181.5, but I feel like once I get my sleeping and eating to settle back down into a routine then I will be able to re-gain 5 lbs. pretty quickly. I wasn’t able to work-out for 3-4 days while I flew back and then slept most of a day away jet lagged when I finally got back into the gym on the 6th of May I noticed that I’ve lost a little bit from where I was right before I left my deployed location. Also I had a noticeable lack of stamina, but that could be attributed that the gym was mad hot. Either way I hope to keep pushing. I’m off for the next 2 weeks to re-coup so we’ll see how I feel after that!

Well this is my *cough* first body blog. I just found bodybuilding.com a couple weeks ago, but I’ve been working out off and on pretty much since high school. I’m currently deployed overseas for the past 4 months and I’ve taken this time to focus on adding muscle mass. I prefer to lift every other day while taking a day off of rest in between. I recently added 2 supplements BSN NO Xplode and BSN Cell Mass. Both of these have been helping along the way as well. Eating wise I’ve increased my intake of protein daily although I do not want to take of the protein shakes. My starting weight when I got here was approx 175lbs. and so far I’ve bulked up to 187lbs. so far I’m extremly pleased with my results and can’t wait to get home and show my wife what hard work and dedication looks like.
I was curious to know what my body fat % is at since I’ve never had it done. I went over to the gym and found someone that was able to assist me. 11.8% body fat is what she came up with. She said that it is within the "athletic" range for guys, but that my waist could use some work. Which was as expected. I’ve been doing 40 crunches at a time for 5 sets which is like 200 crunches while fully declined. Once I get home I can do some biking since running just really isn’t my thing. I’ve set my currently goal for body fat at 8% for now.
