Who would have thought I would get round to posting.

Well despite a few repeated requests I have been lazy over the past couple of months and haven’t posted anything. Mainly because I have been through a bit of a motivational valley. Don’t exactly know why, just haven’t had any oomph and when I don’t feel like I have got anywhere then it is harder to think of things to write about.

I have been forced to completely change around my training schedule to training in the morning which if you know me well you know I am not a morning person… at all. What this means for me is that I don’t have as much drive to train well when I am there, but I am getting there and I am at the point where if I do miss a session I get the same itch that I used to get to get my ass back in there.

Summer is fast approaching and I have been getting some good rides in. Raced a 20km time trial yesterday was going ok until I got almost halfway to find a big ass hill in the way. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem but I was so unprepared for it that it slowed me down considerably.

Also did a 110km ride today which deliberately included about 10 hills. Which means I am knackered know but the ride itself was really good. One hill in particular which is tough at the best of times let alone 80kms in actually turned out to be nothing. It starts out quite steep then levels off but I remember having to fight so hard for that first kilometre that the next 4 to the top still hurt even though it levels out a bit. This time I thought i was only on a small hill before the climb but then before you know it the road levelled out and I raced up the rest of the hill. The weather was great too, bring on Summer!

My only real problem at the moment is my left knee. I did something to it back when i was a soldier and every know and again it gives me grief. I got caught on the bike in a hail storm a fortnight ago and it has started playing up. Was allright yesterday but today I felt pain right from the start. Is weird though, there is no loss of strength in it, no problems pushing on it, just hurts. Glucosamine and anti-inflamattories usually does the trick so I am hoping it should die down over the next couple of days. Will put off leg day until wednesday though just to be sure.

Weight training has improved over the last couple of weeks, pulled 180kg for reps on friday which felt good. Diet has been average but not too bad overall, I haven’t porked up or anything just not as lean as the profile pic.

And that is me in a nutshell. Sorry for taking so long to post.
