Where will you be in 6 weeks?
I was talking to SusanBeth the other night and she sent me some great thoughts which in turn came from Angel Stank.
One of them really got me thinking…….
Think about the things that you haven’t done over the last two years that would have meant that you would be further along than you are now.
These could be more cardio, six meals a day or whatever else applies to you.
Now think about where you will be in six weeks time. Are you going to waste more of your life by not implementing that change or are you going to get off your butt and do something that will see improvements in your life.
This really hit home to me because as I thought over my life most of the things I regret were not mistakes I made but rather things I simply didn’t do.
For example I always wanted to try out for Special Forces when I was in the Army but I never got around to it.
I moved into my new house I got built back in May last year, but still haven’t gotten around to fixing the garden.
It took me 18 months of training to work out that if did more any cardio, I would be leaner. I just think of where I could be if I had kept running and cycling the whole time. And I was begining to think that single digit bf was impossible for me.
Do you get the idea? What changes are you going to make? Post them in a comment and we will help hold you accountable!
BTW 175kg squat tonight for 2 reps tonight. Just thought I’d brag about a 10kg improvement :)

HA, I won’t be in Iraq… I will be in Disney World… I will be within two weeks of hitting 350lbs on the bench… I will have just maxed my Army PT test… You will be able to see more definition in my abs… I will have come up with a plan to incorporate the same amount of lifting I do now so that I can carry this intensity on after I get home…. Where will you be???

I will be back over 80kg, I will have gotten out 10 perfect form reps with 150kg squat and 5 reps perfect form deadlift. Bench will be 120kg at least.
I will eat well more consistantly and always put that little bit more on the bar.

Wow that kind of hit home with me too. There were so many things I wanted to do but for one reason or another I didn’t. That’s one reason that I’ve decided 2009 is going to be a banner year for me cause I’m not holding back anymore.

6 weeks?? I’ll have my hr efficiency down to 1300 beats per mile. I’ll have my average pace below 9 minutes a mile. I’ll be ready for a 20 mile, 32K long run.

I’ll be warm in 6 weeks, its freaking cold here. But yes I hope to put any bad eats far behind me, and get on the cardio full force by the end of 6 weeks.

In 6 weeks I’ll be recovering from my operation but I will have reached my pre-op body weight and body fat goals.
Great blog as always, Ryan.

Reading this made me think of Henry Rollins Spoken Word when he talks about people time murdering him. You can’t get time back and when people waste your time it’s like they’re killing you…just a little. I’m going to be more conscious of my time. No more, "oh I’ll work out after one more cup of coffee", or "I know I need to eat some protein but I’ll do it after I clean the kitchen, run to the gas station, watch the Colbert Report." In general stop killing myself…just a little.

I will be 6kg (13 lbs) lighter. Great post Ryan!

The frustrating thing for me is that I always think this way…."where would I be now if I had just kept doing this" (whatever "this" may be).
Now I’ve been going to the gym 6 days a week for the past 6 weeks and I finally get to see the results from sticking faithfully to something.

This is incredibly motivating. I have kicked myself in the butt so many times for not sticking with something, or being afraid to try, or being too lazy to give maximum effort.
The comment about time murder is a mind blower, too.
In six weeks, I’m going to be skating a 9 second lap and hitting Nasty Nikki Nightstick into the 2nd row of spectators. Thanks for this post. I’m going to share it with my team if you don’t mind.

Hey Ryan, Awesome blog! Yep, I’m back
You saw my blog :- "Operation Tight Hot Bod" …..it’s tweaking time! Time to cut some more fat and uncover what I’ve been doing in the gym. I want to see som more definition. That’s it. I don’t really believe in "weightloss goals" - just fatloss. I agree that you can achieve ALOT in just 6 week. You just gotta put your mind to it.

In 6 weeks I will bench press 140lbs and will be down another inch on my waist
