Kill your arms with a little weight

I’m always looking to try new exercises in the gym.  On arm day I tried something that I read in *cough cough* magazine.

Hold a DB in each hand with your arms bent 90 degrees and your palms facing the sky.  Curl one arm ten reps then return it to 90 degrees.  Curl the other arm ten reps and do the same.  Then curl each arm ten reps.  That’s one set.  Before my first set I thought "I wonder if 25 pounds will be enough?"  OMG at the end of the first set my arms were on fire!  :)   This is definitely going to be added to the rotation of things to possibly hit on arm day from now on.
If I had a nickel for every skinny guy I saw using WAY too much weight flinging their bodies around while doing dumbbell curls I would be a rich man.  Train smart!

This is a modified version of a standard bi exercise the name of which has eluded me at the moment
    The original method :-
1st set ,do what you did
2nd set, start with str8 arm palm forward ,do 10 reps up to 90 degrees only ,same with the other arm
3rd set ,do 10 reps of normal (full range) bicep curl ,same with the other arm
This is a tri set ,i.e no pause between sets!
Some recommend only 7 reps cos 10 can be too much
That is for you too S monkey(the guinea pig)….ok?

    sounds like 21’s

    Think you are right PHP

Kind of like 21’s but I like the difference with the idle arm that isn’t curling. It’s a struggle at the end to keep that weight held up when you’re getting tired!

I’ve tried this one for a couple of years. I notice people staring at me, but it works. I usually use 20 to 25 lbs. for it. You’re right about the last reps, but it’s worth it!
