when food you thought was good is really, really bad
I wanted to scream when I read this. I never expected to see one of my favorite dishes on a list of the saltiest dishes in America. Ugh. And I was always so proud of myself for ordering this instead of the garbage people I go there with normally get.
16. Saltiest “Healthy” Food
Chili’s Guiltless Grill Chicken Platter
2,780 mg sodium, 590 calories, 85 g carbs
Beware the bait and switch. Many restaurants and packaged-food producers advertise their dishes as being low in calories and fat, only to jack up the sugar and salt content. Case in point: This platter actually has more sodium than Chili’s 1,890-calorie Country Fried Steak with sides, toast, and gravy. Stick with the Guiltless Salmon, the best choice on Chili’s sometimes-healthy special menu.

Yep. Just goes to show that unless you cook it yourself, there’s no way to know what you’re getting.

The guiltless grilled salmon is actually really good in case you haven’t tried that yet. I stay away from the guiltless grilled chicken sandwich because, even if they remove the cheese and bacon, it STILL has that horrible white bread bun. Personally I don’t give a flip about a some salt . .. drink lots of water . .workout and sweat . . there problem solved you’ve removed most of that excess salt from your body. just my 2 cents

Probably the same thing happens with my spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy’s. I order it with only lettuce on it…no sauces….and it is probably still bad for me! LOL

Hahahahahaha.
I hate when that happens.
It could be worse, though! I agree with shredded one about the salt thing, mostly because a nice long cardio session will take care of the ocassional salty treat!
NICE AVATAR, by the way! You look more chiseled every time I see you!!!

Holy crap that is a lot of sodium! We are trying not to eat out anymore. It is a challenge but I have noticed that I have been feeling a lot better and loosing weight at a more rapid pace than expected. It was all the junk and sugar that I was eating on a daily and weekly basis. *LOL* I don’t think Michael hears the word healthy sometimes. The only thing good for him in that spicy chicken sandwich is the lettuce! ha ha ha ha. If they would change the bun to a whole grain that would be acceptable too. go to dietfacts.com. They have a database that has menu items from all sorts of restaurants and gives the nutritional facts. The have fast food restaurants as well as causal and fine dining restaurants.
