Let the rhythm move you…

Hmmm…its an oldy but goody workout song!!

I’m DEAD! I just came back from today’s Crossfit WOD and I did all 5 rounds in just shy of 15 minutes!! WHOOOTWHOOOT!! Tomorrow is soooo going to have to be a rest day with only a morning run at the track!

Biked to and from work again!! My quads were burning, but it still felt great! And I think my seat bones are finally getting used to a bike seat again! Diet has  been bang on numbers and clean clean since sunday!! I have to order some more protein powder soon….but being transformation of the week gave me a credit (thank you BB.COM!! You guys ROCK!!)

O.k. so the workout:

5 rounds for time:

15 reps Deadlifts - 60lbs

12 reps Hang Power Cleans - 60lbs

9 reps Front Squats - 60lbs

6 reps Push Jerk - 60lbs

I wanted to try 75lbs…but my arms were still a bit tired from last night and because you have to do 5 rounds of this without stopping (I stopped for a few sips of h20) I needed to choose a weight that I could make it to the end with!

I absolutely am loving these workouts!! And that I can finally do 5 rounds of this stuff instead of dieing at 3 rounds! (although I think Doc would have made me redu a few of my reps tonight for not doing them perrrrrfect…but he wasnt here! lmao BUT…I did work hard to make sure my form was dead on…thanks Doc!)

Now its time to hit a long, hot bubble bath…

OMG…just came back from the gym after doing tuesdays WOD and can barely lift my arms already! lol. Thank god my keyboard is lower than my shoulders!

I’m gonna back track a bit here. I’m now 13 weeks away from ‘Peak Week’ and have to drop 30lbs. 15 of the lbs I have regained since last comp….and 10-15 that I should have lost to really be where I needed to be!! We did know I was going into that show a little heavy…but this time I want to be BANG ON where I want to be!!

So with that said, I’m in high gear now!! Biking to and from work is taking me 22-24minutes one direction!! YAY! And I will be starting AM cardio tomorrow…before first fed! lol

I’m thinking I will bike down to the park (6 blocks away) and run the track for 1/2 an hour each am right after my new found kitty wakes me up to go out! lol

We have this adorable orange male short haired cat that has totally adopted us! I’ve named him Oscar and the kids and I are really enjoying his presence. I am thinking he is a ‘drop off’ cat…because he has no id, no ear tatt and he still has his balls! lmao (more than I can say for half the stray men I know…roflmao…ooooo my bad eh!)

Anyway, Oscar has decided he should be allowed out at 5am! Little rascal! SO that is fantastic if I can get my bootie in bed by 10…I’ll just get up with him! He was gone 3 hours this morning and my son was devastated that he wouldnt come back…but just as my daughter was consoling Gman and saying ‘he will…he adopted us’ Oscar jumped back threw the window I leave open for him!! Phew…silly kitty…he is totally growing on us!

O.k. so enough of that rambling!

The workout of the day was for max weight. It looked like this:

Shoulder press 1-1-1-1-1 reps (I did 55, 65, 65, 75, 65)

Push Press 3-3-3-3-3 reps (I started with the 65-75-75-85-75)

Push Jerk 5-5-5-5-5 reps (HOLY my shoulders were burning…but I did 65-and then the rest at 75lbs!)

I havent done a shoulder press at all in months so I was very happy with my weights for now! And HOLY wont be able to lift my arms above my head to shampoo me hair tomorrow (this is where a man would be GREAT! lol)

W2G Jill and Laurie! You too girls are rockin it out!! PIXXXXIII when you gonna try it again girl?? JJanet…I know you can do this!!

I’m wiped out!! Hope everyone had a fantastical day!!!

Saturdays WOD on a Monday!! lol

Hey all my hardcore friends!! First of all…hats off to bull.dogz who braved a crossfit style workout today!! WHOOOHOOOO!! YOU GO GIRL!!! Waiting to hear from Jill on how she did!! And Pixi…do you hate me yet?? lol

You all motivate me SO much to keep pushing harder!! Today was a beautiful and awesome day! I had the day off from work (last day off for the next 17 days straight! Yikes eh!) Diet has been BANG on for 2 days now!! And workouts are really going great!!

This morning my son and I walked the 10 blocks to the downtown of our little teeny city. And did some banking, then I went and got the door pass for the gym I’m going to use until I move!! They have ONE kettlebell…lmao And its 35lbs…yikes…so i’m going to try to order some for when I do workouts in the park.

After an hour of walking around my son and I went swimming at the pool! My hats off to Frogprincess….I havent gone swimming in forever and that is one hell of a workout!! My little man can swim the length of the pool…under water without coming up for air!! He is a frogman!! lol

I biked down to the gym for my workout of the day (WOD) and did…for time:

45 double unders

45 - 55lb Squat Cleans (TOTALLY scratched the top of my knee off on one BAD rep)

45 Dips

45 double unders

For a time of 12 minutes 55 seconds!!

Then I did two rounds of:

15 GHD situps

15 Hanging knee raises

30 second plank holds!

Then I biked the 10 minutes home!!

I’m loving the energy that I’m finally having and I think i’ve come completely out of my funk!! Btw…you all should check out litlebit…….she is SUCH an incredible inspiration and a beautiful woman inside and out!! Her words of wisdom to me a week ago were exactly what I needed after 2 really hard and down months!!

Of course…all of your support was WONDERFUL too!! BIG CYBER HUGS everyone!!

On a Wing and a Prayer!

Hey all the beautiful Peoples from Bodyspace who read my blogs!!

Yesterday after talking to my trainer (KVNJames) and after some encouragment from Ambrosia (that girl is SO awesome!!) I have decided to train with the goal of doing the Alamo Showdown!! To me this signifies two things…..one I’ve set another date to keep me challenging myself and i’m one of those people who REALLY has to be training for something to keep motivated! (Hey…I lost those 100lbs 7 years ago and have kept it off by having goals that keep me motivated!!)

Two it signifies my belief that all the things in the universe that need to come together so that I can BE in Texas by October 4th happen!! Simply put ‘I BELIEVE!’

Today was my first day back to clean and 5 meals a day….no food in between!! I found myself hungry…or at least feeling ‘nibbly’ a few times. GUM is to be my best friend for the next 15 weeks again!!

I have started biking to work and have made the commitment to do so everyday that is nice!! I am not totally sure on how many km’s it is….but it took me 23 minutes to get there! And 28 against a BAD headwind to get home tonight! But I absolutely loved it and feel amazing!!

At 7pm I again biked…and went to the park for my workout!! I did 2 - 400metre runs and in between each run did handstands and handstand pushups!! I actually pulled a glute muscle a bit on a handstand (going up…lol) and had to stretch the heck out of it to get that ‘charlie horse’ feeling out of me arse! lmao

Tomorrow my bootie will be mixing up the gym workout and the outdoor workout as I want to try saturdays WOD on the crossfit sight!! But I also want to get in a good bike ride as well!!

PIXIE…i’m so TOTALLY impressed that you did the last workout!! YOU ROCK GIRL!!

If anyone wants the more modified versions that I use to train my intermediate level clients with…I have no problem sharing them!! But I do need the request and the email addy!!

Well everyone! I’m off to read other blogs!! lol And to rest and relax!! Tomorrow I have the day off…so I will be hitting the gym hard!! And praying for news from my local politician about where my settlement from my ex is at!!

Hey Girls!!

First …I heart all of you!! Jill reading your comment made my day!! I will get back at it and get blogging again!! I dont want to let you down!! That was maybe the push I needed!!

GJ…the horses just watched me today!! They didnt run…but they are sooo pretty. If they come over to the fence i’m going to interrupt the bike ride and go do ‘nosies’ with them!! lol OHHH and there were cows and baby cows (no worries…i have actually been on cattle drives and have help vaccinate calves and even have eaten prairie oysters…i know they are not called ‘baby cows’ but omg…they are soooo cute…so I made it a cute thing today!lol) AND…the sweetest little bird followed me fence post to fence post for about 10!! lol

PIXI!!! I’m just sending you all kinds of smiles and cyber hugs my friend!! I wish you lived closer…there is a PowWow coming up soon in a town 3 hours from here…I think if you would love it!! And the energy is amazing at pow wows!!

O.k. enough …I just wanted to shout out to my beautiful friends!! OHHH and Maddi…keep ROCKIN!!

My workout!!

I did Crossfits WOD from Wednesday  (hmmm…my add might be getting me here and I can see Doc shaking his head and going…that was last wednesdays…roflmao)

ANYWHOOOO

For time:

50 situps - full situps…not crunches

50 box jumps (this was a sub for dble unders - I couldnt find my skip rope)

50 situps

50 walking lunges

50 situps

50 burpees (this is when the H2O came back on me!)

5o Situps

I did it in 9 minutes!! I need to buy a stop watch soon so I can get my exact times!!

And then I hit my bike after hydrating a bit. And did my 5 miles on the windy pavement and the dirt road with the cows, horses and birdies!! I watched closely for that truck today!

HEY…where is Ninjabill….NIIIINNNJAAAA i’m not writing the ‘girlie’ blogs right now….you can come back……lmao

And NIC…my friend on the other side of the world…I want a blog from you soon!!! I miss your blogs!!!

I just got home from an AWESOME crossfit workout in the park!! My son joined me and we biked down to the park together….he had a TERRIBLE time keeping up to me….and I was going slow! lol Yes my legs are longer…but I think this is the result of legs that can press 835lbs! lol My daughter tried rollerblading with me two days ago…and I had to go slow for her and she had a hard time keeping up at my ’slow’ pace!

Before you go..’but they are kids’…my daughter recieved 5 athletic awards at school and can definatly keep up with me doing crossfit workouts!! She can kick out handstand pushups like they are the easiest thing in the world! AND…she is already 5′7" tall…her legs are longer than mine!

My son is also very athletic and strong as nails! lol. But short legs still…whattaya gonna do…he is only 12! lol

ANYWAY….I did 4 rounds of 400m sprints and 50 air squats in a time of 16 minutes. The coach wanted me to push under 10….but this was my first hardcore workout in over two weeks (yesss…i’ve been ahhem…in off season…roflmao - that was for you NINJABILL!)

Then I hit the road for a 5 mile bikeride which I did also in 16 minutes!! Hit gravel which was AWESOME!! And almost ran into the back of a truck while I was watching 3 beautiful horses running the fence along with me as I biked!! WHAT an incredible ride!!

I think its official…STORM IS BACK IN DA HOUSE!! LOL

Big smiles and cyber hugs to all of you who have been SO supportive and wonderful!! This last two months has been really hard…and you guys have kept me smiling!!! I cyber love you all!!

WOW if I could write words like this I would definatly BE a rockstar! lol

I love this song! I love how ‘in the moment’ it is! How in the now and in the today it is!!

The past is just that…its history…its past…its done and cant be relived. The future is unwritten!! It is our dreams and our hopes and desires that drive what the future will bring and be!

But it is in the TODAY…in the NOW that the future even gets written!! Yesssss i’m being all philisophical…I should have warned all my beautiful hard core workout friends that the summer and the sun always brings on this incredible ’sun energy philosophy’ that I cant really explain! But this has been my experience for the past 3 summer…laying in my hammock with incredibly inspiring words at my finger tips!!

This summer has been a little different, the rain clouds have gotten in the way a bit (sigh) and life has brought some metaphorical rain with it too.

I’m busy packing my house and trying to get all the details in place to move before the summer is over! Workouts at the gym have given way to rollerblading and running. (HAPPENS EVERY SUMMER! no worries..i call it my ‘off season and go with the sun! lol)

I’m not used to feeling SO up in the air about my future…and i’m working hard on breathing, relaxing and praying for everything to come together soon. It feels like im in some sort of ‘numb limbo’ right now. What I know for sure is that I WILL NOT do another year in this lonely teeny tiny town. So if I dont make it to Texas by fall, i’m heading back to British Columbia until the paperwork comes threw to move the kids! (this is what i’m waiting on…damn ex husbands from hell! I will try not to get started…but this man tried to kill us when my son was 3 weeks old…has had the kids VERY rarely over the past 12 years and when he did was VERY abusive with my son leading to police reports! He is a freak! And yet I still have to have written permission from either him or a judge in his place saying I can move the children across the border….so please pray my friends…I want to be near my family sooooon. I miss them like crazy!)

SO my friends…BE IN THE NOW!! Dream of tomorrow, and do what you need to today to make that dream come true!!

Who Inspires You??

We all have down days, when we dont want to eat right, we dont want to workout. We just want to go ahead and feel sorry for ourselves and be lazy! EVEN ME! I call them ‘jammie days’ and just enjoy them now!

I wanted to give a shout out to the two men who inspire me beyond words!! My brothers!! It was father’s day yesterday, and sadly, I dont have a dad…nor do my kids have one….so both of my brothers fill in as the ‘male role models’ in our lives!! And what incredible role models they both are!!

My older brother has been married to my beautiful sister in law for 14 years now!! They have a beautiful daughter!! He joined the US Army after 9/11 and followed in my grandfather’s and uncles footsteps serving our country! He is a medic and he was in a very bad area of Baghdad during the first part of the war. In the first week he was there he was housed in plywood and cardboard! If you think life as a soldier on duty is ‘cushy’ think again! Everyday they had to face up to 100 explosions on base! In the first 10 days he was there, he was on patrol and wound up surrounded by insurgents on top of a Police Station roof for 5 days! Not a day went by while he was in Iraq that I didnt worry! My older brother is only 10 months older than I and I have never known a day without him! Watching his strength to face life in Baghdad motivated me to take on some of my biggest dreams and anytime I tried to find an excuse not to do something…all I had to do was remember what he was facing everyday!

My baby brother also joined the Army and is an M.I. Which fits him PERFECT! Josh is incredibly intelligent and he is as gifted psychically as I am or more! He has studied many of the martial arts and how energy moves and works!! Whenever I need advice or just need a ‘Guru’ I go to Josh!! He always knows what to say and I pray one day he writes a book! His mind is beyond fascinating as is his spirit!! I cant begin to tell you how blessed I am that he is my brother!! And its SO funny when the older sister is going to her baby brother for advice…but honestly…my mom does too! He is just amazing!!

So this is my BIG SHOUT out to the soldiers who are currently in Iraq or Afganistan and serving! To Rage…THANK YOU for serving so our butts can be free! Isabelle and Rage’s momma…I understand very well what its like to have someone you love over there!! Hang in girls!!

To my Crazy A$$ Sky Hero (C.A.S.H.) that sexy helo pilot friend of mine who has done two tours as a Medavac Pilot…YOU ROCK!! Stay safe and sexy! Cant wait to see you in Texas!

And all the other guys on this site that serve!! YOU ALL INSPIRE ME!! And watching you guys and what you do…there ARE NO EXCUSES for the rest of us not to live!!

Through Another’s Eyes - Meditation

First of all my friends, I am SO deeply touched by how many of you read my blogs! The incredible supportive and smile enticing comments are very much appreciated and felt!! I had a lot of requests for this meditation - so I’m going to blog it!! I hope you all get a chance to try it!!

First this just came to me! Sometimes there is no explaination for how you find something that helps not only your own soul but others…they just come to you! It worked wonderfully for me, and like I said in my last blog, I was able to feel and see myself as the beautiful and sensual creature that I was intended to be even at a size 13! I was able to find in myself and see what others could see!!

In the past 7 years I have met so many women, wives and lovers who will not let their husbands see them naked! They hide! I was shocked! Now admittedly i’m a bit of a nudist…so even when I was heavier I was never SO ashamed of my own being that I couldnt let a lover see me. But I did understand what these women were feeling! So I shared with them….and slowly….with the meditation many of them found themselves suddenly being that Tigress in the bedroom with their hubbies!! Finally able to let themselves see the beauty that their husbands already saw!

I have also had men do this meditation too!! In my journey into mind/body and spirit I have been discovering that many men suffer much of the same feelings of inadequecy of self! So a few brave souls have tried this, they also have included yoga into their lives and omgosh they are the most sensual men ever! Giving and sharing and making a difference in the world!! I love it!! So if I somehow can touch a few more lives with what was given to me (maybe by an angel!) then it is with the deepest and warmest smile that I pass this on…..

Anothers Eye Meditation

The first thing you need to do is set aside at least an hour for this. Make sure your phone is turned off and walk away from bodyspace (lmao).

Run a nice hot bubble bath. Choose whatever essential oils or sea salts with scent that entice a feeling of relaxed in your soul.

Light candles and place them around the edges of your tub. Turn the lights down and sink your naked body into the warm water and bubbles.

Meditation music is a wonderful atmosphere enhancer, not necessary but is nice to have!

Look into the flames of the candles and begin to breath in really deep, in through your nose and out threw your mouth. Do not rush breath. Visualize the breath coming all the way from the soles of your feet and breath in life! As you breath out focus on consciously ‘letting go’ of the day, of stress.

Stare into the candlelite as it flickers and you continue to breath. Do not rush this.

When you are feeling fully relaxed it is time to go into ‘third person touch.’ Close your eyes and continue to breath.

Let go of all that you are and in that moment know that you are more than your body.

You need to adopt the perspective of ‘other’. This is no longer YOU looking at your body, but OTHER or how others see your body! So you are going to use your hands to see rather than your eyes!

Start at your feet or your hands. I love feet, so starting at feet is wonderful for me! But if you are going to be hard on yourself over your feet..start at your hands (this is NOT about how you see you…we are our own worst critic’s…this is about how God see’s you…how those who love you with all their hearts see you!)

Run your hands over your toes and feet. ‘See’ your feet. Then start running your hands up your legs. Keep your eyes closed. You are to be seeing with ‘touch’ not with eyes. Feel the curves of your calves, how pretty your knees are, the softness of your thighs, or the hard muscled curves of your thighs.

If you start thinking negative thoughts….go back to breathing and staring at the light of the flickering candles. Once you feel peaceful again, close your eyes again and continue. Run your hands over your hips, belly, chest, breasts, arms, fingers, face….seeing ONLY with your hands…only with your touch.

Remember to continue to breathe. And any time negative body image thoughts pop up…go back to concentrating on your breathing and the candle lights.

This takes time.

Do Not rush.

And dont worry if it takes you 10 or more long hot baths to really start to see yourself threw the eyes of ‘Other’! Our Ego’s want to jump in and tell us how imperfect we are. But guess what?

We are ALL PERFECT in our imperfections!! And what is perfect changes with societal changes. YOU ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!!
