Today's workout was Insanity Max Interval Sports Training. I hadn't done this routine in several months so it was nice to go back and do it again. I felt it the most during the leg raises at the beginning, especially while my hand was on the floor. Really nice glutes workout! I also struggled with the bronco jumps at the end. It always feels awkward for me when I do that move. This workout is very similar in idea to Insanity the Asylum's Game Day. You are doing a bunch of sports in a row, like gymnastics, basketball, football, boxing, etc. I love the variety!
I was on vacation in another state last week with my husband. That did NOT stop us from working out each day. We brought all of our equipment with us (except a pullup bar) and got it done! For this particular workout, you alternate between pushups and pullups. The nickname for it is 30-15 because the goal is to do 30 pushups each time and 15 pullups each time. There are 24 rounds total. Because I didn't have access to a pullup bar, I brought a resistance band and strung it over the rafters. Then I sat on the floor and pulled down to work my back. I did 30 reps each time to make sure I still got a decent back workout. Not nearly as good as the pulllup bar itself, but it got the job done!
Another P90X Legs and Back workout is in the books! I stuck with 30 pounds throughout, which is killer!!! My legs were shaking so much by the end. My pullups stayed around the same number, just tried to get a larger range of motion with them. I burned 602 calories in 64 minutes. Max HR of 185 with an average of 134.
Went up a bit on my weights for this time through Shoulders and Arms from P90X. It definitely made me burn out faster by the time I got to the last few sets of moves but it also gave me a crazy pump! I burned 346 calories in 64 minutes. Max HR of 181 with an average of 135.
Second time through Chest and Back for my 30 day Hybrid schedule. I pretty much stayed at the same numbers and I had a huge pump by the end. My chest in particular was DONE! I burned 502 calories in 60 minutes. Max HR of 179 with an average of 131.
Core Cardio & Balance from Insanity is a great workout when you are wanting to get in a short and sweet cardio routine. It is normally used during the Recovery Week of Insanity but I like to throw it in once in awhile because I like the variety and sometimes you need a less intense cardio day! I was hurting from Legs & Back and didn't want to overdo it while my muscles were recovering so I purposely put this cardio workout at this part of my Hybrid. I burned 284 calories in 32 minutes. Max HR of 183 with an average of 136.
One of my least favorites from P90X but definitely gives you fabulous results! P90X Legs and Back is a fantastic workout, always gets my HR high too. I used 30 pound dumbbells throughout for all the weighted exercises. First time doing that!! I burned 602 calories in 65 minutes. Max HR of 200 with an average of 146.
For my second weighted routine of this Hybrid, I completed P90X Shoulders & Arms. A long time since I've done this routine but always a good one. I pretty much stayed at my same weights and even went up for a couple of routines. Pretty nice! I burned 404 calories in 59 minutes. Max HR of 168 with an average of 123.
I originally had Asylum Speed & Agility scheduled as my Day 2 workout. I decided to switch it up with P90X2 Plyocide because I had just recently done Speed & Agility and the Fit Test and I wanted to mix it up some more! I hadn't done this routine in several months anyway so it was nice to go back to it. Not nearly as high intensity as an Insanity or Asylum workout but still a solid cardio workout. I burned 489 calories in 53 minutes. Max HR of 179 with an average of 138.
I began my 30 day Hybrid schedule with old school P90X Chest & Back. I haven't done this routine in AT LEAST 9 months so I was a bit nervous where I would stand compared to my best numbers with it. I did go down in reps for push-ups and for the weighted exercises, but really not by a ton. I was able to use the exact same weights for all the weighted exercises which is AWESOME!! It's kind of crazy to go back to the first time I ever did P90X and look at some of my reps/weight compared to now. 8 push-ups on my knees vs. 50 regular push-ups (NO KNEES!) is phenomenal. I love me some P90X! I burned 528 calories in 62 minutes. Max HR of 178 with an average if 124.
Here is my final fit test from this round of Insanity the Asylum. My numbers went up here and there, but it isn't my best results from Asylum. My best results came from doing 3 straight months of Asylum. Consistency is definitely key, and the more you do it the better you get! I burned 221 calories in 23 minutes. Max HR of 191 with an average of 138.

Last Monday and Tuesday I had rest days. I took one extra rest day because I needed it, plain and simple! Wednesday was Insanity the Asylum Speed and Agility. I felt great going into it and was considering doing it 2X through like Shaun T always challenges you to do, but by the end I was DONE. I burned 524 calories in 53 minutes. Max HR of 205 with an average of 145.
On Saturday I completed Insanity the Asylum Back to Core. My back was sore from a few days earlier so it was a bit rough going through this routine but I did it! I burned 286 calories in 42 minutes. Max HR of 175 with an average of 129.
Last Saturday I completed Insanity the Asylum Vertical Plyo. I had great energy for my last time through this workout for this round of Asylum. I did well overall, really noticing my back popping again once I went back and looked at the video. I got 30 lateral jumps at the end which was my goal for this round of Asylum. I stuck with 2.8 ladder rungs and went up in jumps each time over the past 30 days. The more you do, the better you get! I burned 423 calories in 49 minutes. Max HR of 200 with an average of 143.
Last Friday I completed Game Day + Overtime from Insanity the Asylum. I did this workout fairly early in the morning but I still had a good energy level throughout, even though I hadn't eaten a ton yet. I did well overall, just started to drag during Overtime but I am always wiped out by that time! I burned 784 calories in 75 minutes. Max HR of 205 with an average of 148.
