There’s nothing special about today but it’s one more day that I can be proud of. That’s a good place to be. I’m more focused on my studies & less concerned with trivial matters. My workout is starting to yield decent results… my energy could use a kick in the pants, though. I guess it’s a Zen moment… either that or I’m so allergic to Nc, I’ve gone delirious.
*chuckle…
I keep getting questions about ‘what’s my cardio?’ ‘how many times do I work out?’ ‘how much do I bench?’… then stunned responses when I try to explain my workout system. It’s completely unconventional. First, I have an annoyingly fast metabolism. That’s right, I’m one of "those" people… I can eat my weight in cake & not gain a pound. Fortunately, I know cake is not in my major food group requirements. I don’t add a focused cardio regime to my workout, as most people do. I may have a spin at the bags, but I don’t add anything to my workout. Mind you, I walk everywhere… dance at least 15 hrs a week… and still use a push mower.
;)
For those who keep asking, here are some of the basics…
First, I’m only a few months away from my 39th birthday, my favorite food is hard cheese, I only drink chicory coffee & I am about to open my first in home studio. (I’m thrilled… and way nervous, but I’ll deny that last part. ;p) My primary teaching focus will be the 25-45 yo house wife, sister, girlfriend, girl next door, office girl during the day/bar hopper at night… ect. I will be opening a pole fitness studio. I’m in the process of making all the conversions & ordering poles and the responses are already pouring in. I need to make business cards… I’ve run out! I guess it’s not all bad. I’m so busy with things whereas I hear constant complaints about how PTs are struggling to get new clients.
I’ve managed to meet a slew of brilliant new people each day… so to those of you who have shared your information with me, a wholehearted public thank you!! Seriously, you guys(and gals) are the best!
*skips off…

"Staring at a bowl of protein powder enhanced oatmeal doesn’t get it eaten."
Yeah yeah, I know…
The appetite is suffering right now. Calories are needed to gain yet the actual eating part seems to be a challenge. Forcing just makes me want to hurl. Hurling bad, not my friend.
Still coughing & that’s part of the problem. As a result of my rather nasty bout with the fever that rampaged the US, my asthma has gone into conniption fits. Hypersensitive bronchial spasms, it’s called.
I wake, I cough & gasp for air.
I run & as soon as I stop, I cough & gasp for air.
I talk & yep, you guessed it… I start coughing & gasping for air.
Here’s one of the biggies… I eat & as soon as the food gets into my system, a few minuets later I begin to cough & fight mucus buildup. I have yet to figure out why this happens. It happened to my grandmother, too. (The doctors just wrote it off as a part of old age & never addressed it as a concern. Gee, thanks you jerks.)
Gross. It’s the kind of thing that kills an appetite.
Steam has been ever so helpful & I tend to keep the house feeling like my beloved New Orleans… all thick & wet. Gawd, my trachea must look like leather right now. I know my lower back is begging for a massage.
Sexy, eh? No wonder I stay single.
*snicker…
Actual weight gains are SLOW. It looked like I was putting on some size there for a bit… none the less, a pound or two is better than nothing. The workout is slowly getting stronger but I can definitely feel where I lost footing.
I despise not being able to eat/snack like I need to while at work. I still carry around little snacks & stash them in places where I can eat out of view. How rodent like is that? Next, I’ll be getting tangled up in sticky traps.
*grin…
I love my chin up bar that I got online here at BB.com… (Shameless plug)… I even make a game of doing a super fast ten when I go through my door. Since I live out of my office/bedroom, I am learning to have a close relationship with my chin up bar.
:D
I have to stick to working out at home for now. The gym is an old school style boxing gym with not a lick of heat/ac… and it can get cold/hot in there (& the dog, Diamond is a luv
). I love it, I love it, I love it… but it’s just a bit much for me right now while I’m babying my breathing. That’s ok, I have a slew of climbable trees out back(a killer hilly park’s worth), doorways, heavy buckets(40lb kitty litter tubs rule) & a HUGE birch desk that’s got a sweet ergonomic curve in it(perfect for dips). It’s all home based circuit training for now but that’s always been loads of fun anyway, so I don’t mind.
Hey, I live in the ghetto. I can always throw in a little B&E if things get dull…. KIDDING!
:P

This will make my initial entry(and likely something to laugh about later).
I’ve just endured a wicked two weeks of flu & flu related bronchial hypersensitivities. My goal of gaining 10lbs is being threatened by this horrid coughing & an inability to hit the gym with the big kids. I hate this, I can’t even hit the bags without going into asthmatic fits. Too bad there’s not a shake to remedy that!
*poo…
Still rooting around for supplemental information to help with the ACSM studies & looking for new connections in SF. It looks like an ACE certification is held in high regards out west, so consideration is being made for doubling the studies. There’s still much to absorb & process… and it’s still early in the game.
:)
