Stand up for whats right
When I started just back in February I never imagined weighing anything over 200 until I was at least 23 or 24, hell even 25. But as of this Mourning I’ve built from a riddged 165ish frame to 195 of 8 to 10% pure Rip Shit muscle head. The biggest bright spot for me is that I’ve done this all naturally. Its got me thinking maybe I could help change the body building community. For Christ sakes i’ve even stopped taking creatine. When I started in February I knew all the money in bodybuilding went to the steroid, HGH, ever other pharmaceutical pill taking muscle head competing at the Mr Olympia. Think about it is that fair. We all know that Jay and Ronnie are juicer and so are the 8 top competitors underneath them. But because its what makes the industry money people turn their heads. Its not fair. I would not be able to make body building a career unless I made the ultimate sacrifice and give up my health and start roiding. But now being only 20 years old and still being able to pack on muscle like a adolescent hitting a growth spurt, I think differently. Maybe in within the next 10 to 15 years we can as a bodybuilding community rise together and demand respect for the things we can accomplish legally. Lets face it the government cracked into bodybuilding there would be more suspensions and people put into jail in one day than the whole Balco and track and field scandal put together in its own history. Face its bodybuilding at its top revenue level is an illegal sport. Bodybuilding as a sport should demand the same respect any other professional sport gets, plus the sponsoring. But we cant get it because sponsors know all to well that bodybuilding is about a ass hair away from being shut down. The FDA wont sit on baseball forever. Hell even Nascar worked its way up from its ridicule to be a main stream sport. I see every sport gaining more and more popularity but because we have ass holes like Jay Cutler and Ronnie Coleman who cant accept the fact that they have genetic limitations just like every other professional athlete the **** it up for all of us. Look forward to the day when the spokesman of Muscle Tech or BSN isn’t some muscle bearing freak but yet a man maybe 5′9 or even 6′2 who you can tell that after almost 2 decades of dedication has sculpted everything he could of his god given body naturally. Someone who went in and looked at these roid monkey’s and didnt say damn I need what they are on to compete. Pray for that day, because until then being a pro bodybuilder means your a pro cheater.

Got carried away, but while im on the subject I’d like to survey how the rest of the bodyspace community feels towards my brief spur of the moment essay

Congratulations on your progress….i agree with your post, but unfourtunately the status quo in bodybuilding of"muscle bearing freaks" and the nature of the business makes me believe that it will take a huge revolution to bring any honesty back to the biz. I see the government interveining in the near future. Thanks for the post.

I agree with Rocco. And congragulations on your progress! I know how you feel. I don’t see it changing anytime soon though. Unfortunately, there’s too much money in the ‘illegal’ aspects of the ’sport’. I’m a big fan of natural bodybuilders though! I think they desrerve a lot more respect than they get! You should seriously think about competing on the natural stage in the future.

I plan on competing September 27th up here in Maine. But I feel even if I win then what. There are really no big time sponsors that would help me with travel. Being married and making 9$ an hour doesnt allow for a lot of vacation time. I would like to know how these bodybuilders feel about themselves. I’ve been close to taking steroids, and I’ll admit I openly talk about taking HGH in the near future. But these guy taking test boosters and estrogen blockers and thyroid medication how do they feel. Most of them take this stuff but do not have the genetics to compete at the top level anyway, but at the smaller meets make us hard working guys feel small and pathetic. I want to start a movement within the bodyspace community. I think with enough support we could push for something.

wow i agree with what you are saying about steriods being used yes to many people turn there heads on this subject just for the fact that money has become such a big issue in todays society it should be stopped and i appluade you for not using steriods……. you are a great role-model for the bodybuilding community as you said……..

They more I think about it the more I’m beginning to see a cause in this. I feel that maybe bodyspace could be the frontier that bring the upper mecca of bodybuilding to its knees and forces it to start over. I feel we should bring this issue right up in congresses face.

if yu want to make a congressional staement about this topic then i am behind you all the way lets stop this illegal use of anabolic steriods so that others may have a chance to win MR.O without taking steriods because to many people are being forced to take and use this drug just to get the advantage on his or her competetors…….. it does not seem very fair to me and it needs to be stopped!!

I couldn’t agree more, but i want this to become something big not just a couple individuals coming forth. I want to reach out to the bodyspace community and making this a ship with some god damn momentum. If we can get enough people on here that care then we have a chance. I’m just a 20 year old with no experience in this sort of thing. But I’m willing to bet within this great community there is someone that can help us.

well said and very smart thinking i wil help spread the word across the body building community and maybe we might stumble across someone that can make a difference someone important or is a big time role-model to the world you never know with these things just keep preaching the good word and someone will listen!!!

All very true, I feel the same way about plastic surgery in women’s competition ( I am no competitor but I do enjoy it,) but come on, is a boob job, lipo, and a tummy tuck REALLY the same thing as working hard to achieve the best body YOU can?
