GREETINGS FROM IRAQ

Well made it here safe & sound…  Have been here about a month now & I’m doing pretty well…  Supposed to hit the board for promotion soon AND we’ve got a pretty good gym on out Combat Operations Base (COB)…  Have been hitting it pretty hard when I can & seein’ great results!!!  Diet is crap though, but at this point my caloric intake can’t keep up with what I’m burnin’ everyday…  I’ve been losin’ weight like it’s goin’ out of style…

Well just wanted to drop a note to Y’all & let you know I’m fine & doin’ well here in Iraq…

SMELL GREAT THINGS BREWING…

Alright so those who know me know there have been a lot of recent developments that kept me down for a long time, but I’ve started just laying into everything again…  With renewed motivation & drive (Thanks again Nic!!!) I’m back in the game full time so-to-speak…  I’ve posted my newest stats & I’ve posted my current training split which I am doing in addition to my required Physical Training every morning (Example Monday we did a 6 mile run & today (Tuesday) we had a little over an hour of constant upper body, abs, & lower body work (Ask for details if you want to know…  Too long of a list on here LOL)

Seeing results & feeling great about everything…  I’ll hit the gym this afternoon & let you all know how it went…

HMM…

Haven’t been around in a few weeks… My Wife & I were pregnant, but we lost the baby… Needless to say the two weeks afterward I didn’t do a damn thing… But we’re both doing better and I’m back in the swing of things… Haven’t done any lifting, but have been doing a lot of bodyweight stuff and have been seeing results I’m glad to say… Arms are filling out, as well as my chest… Working with push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, pull-ups, running etc… Have a set of adjustable dumbbells I’ve been using for arms & shoulders so I’m not completely without iron… Haven’t wanted to go to the gym due to not wanting to leave my wife for an extended period of time while she recuperates… Will most likely hit the gym next week and return to "shock-therapy" on my body to stimulate more muscle growth & fat burning…

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS…

SO haven’t been around in a little bit, but it’s because I spent 8 hours in the ER Monday due to what I thought was a simple pain in my chest, but turned into Motrin poisoning of some sort…  BUT they did a full body work-up and it turns out I have cysts on my Liver and Spleen…  Honestly not worried about it, but the Doc said to take it easy for a few days just to be safe SO tomorrow (Friday) I hit the gym again and can’t wait…  BUT on a happier note today my wife and I found out she is pregnant again!!!  Awesome news!!!  Couldn’t have come at a better time…  Our son will be about a month or less away from 3 years old when the baby is born so he’ll be a big help…  He’ll make a great big brother…  He’s already great with other kids…  Unfortunately for most of the pregnancy I’ll be in Iraq, but I’m scheduling my mid-tour leave around the due date so I can be here when he or she is born…

EATING CLEAN…

SUCKS first of all… This is the portion of the life I’m not so hot at… I am great at eating clean for about 2 weeks and then it all goes to Hell… Any advice on changing it up, making it more interesting, or simply sticking with it?!? Any help would be greatly appreciated…

Also I’m going to be posting my current body stats later (much to my dismay) and would just like to say that this nearly three month sit out due to injury is a real eye-opener everything goes so fast… It’s eerie… And a little depressing LOL BUT it’s motivation to lift harder… Just need to get the nutrition under control…

I CAN LIFT AGAIN!!!

Well the Doc finally cleared me and the whole testicle thing is pretty much cleared up from Special Forces Selection SO it’s time to get back in to shape again! My goal is, as always, to shed the fat put on strength, muscle, and endurance… SO I got a little over-zealous Monday (09JUL07) when I lifted for the first time in nearly 3 months and dived in and Tuesday I can’t describe the level of soreness I experienced, but don’t care…  Lifted again Wednesday and the soreness was gone and today (with the exception that I have had three wisdom teeth sugically removed today) I’m feeling GREAT!!!  Nothing like the feeling you get after lifting…  Unfortunately I believe I’m not supposed to Friday due to the oral surgery, BUT I think some light to moderate Dumbbell work just to maintain the little bit I’ve accomplished this week would not be out of the question…  I’m on a four week program I pulled from M&F Magazine that is specifically designed for those whom have had to have a lay off in the fitness department and I have to say it feels great…  After that I’ve got a full blown 12-week plan for preparing myself for #1 my delpoyment to Iraq in September and for #2 when I go back to Special Forces Selection (and this time not get hurt 3 days away from completing it) when I get back from Iraq…

Summary:  LOVE TRAINING!!! GOOD TO BE BACK TO IT!!! LOL

INJURIES…

When will this injury ever heal?!?  Of course there is the fact that I have developed clots and that I may lose my left testicle out of the deal, but oddly enough I’m more worried about getting back in the gym and getting built back up…  Messed up priority huh?  More worrisome than that is I can’t lift my 2 year old, 25lbs son without immense pain and I’m just sick of it…  In fact, so sick of it that I let him climb up into Daddy’s lap because he wanted to watch cartoons with me at lunch the other day.  Well he slipped and lost his grip on the chair and his right knee connected with the left damaged and broken testicle…  NOT GOOD!!! (just thought I’d share that even though I figure anyone readying this could come to the conclusion themselves)  So the rest of that day went obviously well…

Alright that’s enough ofa rant I suppose…  Just ready to get back i the saddle and knock myself back to where I was and beyond and return to Special Forces Selection so I can drive on with my career…

If there’s anything I’ve learned being in the military since I was 17 (Nearly 9 years ago) it’s that obstacles in our paths are only speed bumps you can go around or drive straight over, but never turn back…

RESULTS?

Okay so I’m still injured and can’t train, but I’ve changed my diet significantly and oddly enough I’m seeing results…  I say oddly only because I’ve generally grown and shrunk where I’ve wanted too…  Anyway I’m trying my best to eat clean…  Stick to water…  All that not-so-fun-stuff that is oh-so-important…  Though seeing results just from the changes in my diet get me excited as to what will happen when I am able to lift again…
