I am reaching out for information on the Keto diet, to those who have been on it, are on it, or have information on it or want to offer advice. I am 5′7, 158 at the moment and 24% body fat at the moment and want to get on keto diet to burn fat and slim down/cut along with my strength training routine and cardio routine if any of that information is needed. Here are my questions:
Is it safe for women and ppl not looking to bulk and cut?
is 30 grams of carbs a day too high…or is it best just to stay as close to zero as possible since you cannot avoid the few that are in cheese and veggies, etc?
what is the simplest food to eat everyday….i am perfectly fine eating the same thing everyday….(i eat 5-6 times a day)?
i have been reading all blogs and googled quite a bit of sources…..i would love to hear about personal experiences with this diet….especially a females experience, but i welcome everyone. Thanks!!

All ya’ll…I have a few questions and of course I have taken some time to research different sources of knowledge on my own, but wanted tried and true opinions from people on here to sort some inquiries. So any help would be appreciated, any opinions, or advice, as well.
Not sure before my inquiry overload if my stats/history are important but will post them anyway, just incase. I am 5 foot 7 inches, i currently weigh between 150-155….i was doing well before but slacked on hiatus…i would like to be 140 or lower as a goal….i started at 188 over a year ago. i have no allergies or medical conditions…i am a medium framed italian gal and tho i can hide it well i suppse i have been told…my body fat is high even though i have built muscle tone….and its slow at going down which is very discouraging. i hit the gym 6-7 days a week with cardio and strength training as well.
First off, supplements. I know I should be taking a protein shake after working out, an even as a meal replacement to gain extra protein i might need…correct me if I am wrong…but on other supplements. Can you take too many. There are so many things out there for different functions…i do not want to be a pill popper- but i want to be taking things advantageous to myself. Ppl have told me to take CLA, fish oil, b vitamins, fat burners, milk thistle, l-carnatine, acai berry, etc on top of my multi-vitamin….can someone recommend something necessary to my stats and goals of losing bodyfat, weight, and toning?
Next, the oh so beloved meal plan. i have one the gym printed out…i have also have this block meal plan they gave me as well, where there is a list of fats, carbs, and proteins and you piece together a meal…but trying to get things to fit in the block….you usually end up with wierd food combination just to make sure you get a good combo. So does anyone have any suggestions for a meal plan of my stature, etc. Because of my work schedule i am down for eating 5-6 tiny things a day, but i have an aversion to seafood…tho i am mustering up courage to try tuna again as i heard its pretty spiffy protein…and i love turkey….but am getting sick of chicken!!! I take it i should eat a lot of protein to help muscle tone to lower body fat….but i am not looking to bulk…i am looking to get toned and defined while losing mass if that makes sense. If anyone has a plan that works for them, etc, would be much appreciated. I am not being lazy or uncreative….or trying to have the guess work taken care of for me…i have lost 30 or so on my own….i know it should be more but my body seems to want to hang onto fat or i am just not doing this well enough. At any rate….any words of wisdom would be welcomed to this somewhat newbie!! Thanks to you all and Happy Holidays!!!

i wish i was the type of person when i get angry or stressed or mad or upset that i fled to the gym to beat the shit out of a punching bag or something along that lines….but instead i have managed to blow my keto diet once again and stay in safe haven of my comforter and sleep. i know this is all on me to get in shape etc….and all on me when i break routine. there is really no point in this blog….i just have to condition myself to use anger or sorrow as fuel for gym instead of trying to kill it with pillows and z’s.

ok so i have been doing a lil looking into the keto diet…and saw that it has gotten nothing but praise..from those i could find sharing their experience. i have read a few articles here and even one with a calculator attatched so i got how many grams of protein and fat i have to reach for the diet and how many carbs i have to get to on the carb load up day…. can anyone give me simple meal plan ideas that are easy for an on the go girl with limited kitchen appliances at the office etc….i dont mind eating the same stuff everyday…. what should i avoid…what has the highest fat and protein to make it all easier…and just simple in general as i read a few meal plans and almost gagged at what they were suggesting….anything…dont care what the advice is since i am being vague myself…any words of wisdom or positive experiences from this diet as i am still deciding whether to attempt it…… and would it be good for someone like me: just want to tone and lose body fat…i am 28%
……5′7….165lbs…..in gym 7 days a week only at night as i can only manage that on my schedule….not really into red meat too much…do not like fish! etc.

its amazing…i use to be scared of gyms…of all the beautiful ppl in there who automatically looked good. i cringed at walking in there and having ppl thinking yuck…look at that chubby girl. now i find myself in there every night…paying no attention to anyone and realizing that there are all sorts of ppl in there at every level of fitness, etc. so may ppl are doing it for different reasons, there are all shapes and sizes and its not so intimidating. everyone is friendly and willing to help. every once in a while you will get the barbie doll that snubs her nose at everyone, especially the chubby girl on the treadmill *raises hand* but i walk next to her smiling because i know that physical beauty etc is going to fade eventually no matter what you do, but beauty on the inside will prevail, and i have no fear of losing that. i want to be pretty and fit…i want to be thought of as sexy, it be nice to have confidence…but as i go through this….no matter how i end up looking i will be the same person…just healthier and happier….maybe better looking in a black dress.
