Kempo X
March 10, 2008Just wanted to share this vid with you guys. Its really the behind scenes footage of Kempo X from the P90X series, but just wanted to give you all a taste of what I put myself through. Believe me, when you are finished with this workout, the amount of sweat running down your body is about the same volume as the Pacific and Atlantic oceans put together. i was so amped doing this workout, it suprised me that I was not checking the clock to see how much of this brutal torture i have remaining in minutes. But you know what? It was fun, fun, fun. the workout is about an hour but its not an hour of cardio. Theres warm up stretches with a teeny bit of yoga stretches thrown in. The cool down is alot of breathing and unwinding, basically getting your heart rate back to normal. What i like about this workout is that Tony emphasizes breathing and using your entire body when applying punches, kicks and blocks. you have to engage your core and let your hips help to follow through with strikes.
In between each kempo session, theres some jumping jacks, X jumps, jogging on the spot and mimicking skipping moves. Its really great, I think if you want a challenge and you don’t want to hit a plateau or if you have a short attention span (like me, lol) I recommend ordering and trying the P90 X series and throw it in with your regular workouts, just to add variety.
