I try not to be too hard on myself for being so small. All the huge guys on here have been working out for YEARS, 4, 8, 10, 12 years, and I’ve been at it for less than 1. So, as long as I’m making progress somewhere, I’m okay with that. Did 49 sets tonight. Had some protein and two reeses miniature PB cups in the middle of it to try and prevent catabolism, after all it was an hour and forty minute workout. I worked the back and triceps from several different angles tonight. Worked abs as usual. Pretty good workout. Kinda fell off the wagon the last couple days after being really good for a couple weeks. Bought that bag of reeses PB cups to have some quick sugar after my workout because the ON Whey doesn’t really have many carbs in it and I need to replenish muscle glycogen yada yada . .anyway . .I didn’t ONLY eat the candy after workouts. . .I kinda snacked on it all the time.. sh*t. Well, it’s gone now and the damage is done. I’ll try to learn from my mistakes . .It’s frustrating because I had REALLY leaned up since I cleaned up my diet.

I gotta warn you I just kinda think out loud in these things and I’m not the most interesting person in the world. If you know me and like me, then you might be interested in what I have to say. Otherwise . . .sorry. Now that that’s out of the way . ..onward!
Girlfriend’s been out of town for about a week. What’s that mean? It means I’ve been eating better than usual and working out twice as much. THAT’S what it means. I did about 4 workouts that were around 1:40 - 1:50 hours, and I cut out virtually all sweets from my diet. In the last week, I ate nothin’ but lean meats, steamed veggies, whole multi grain bread, cheese, cottage cheese, protein powders, V8, Peanut Butter, . . . . umm what else . . . only healthy stuff, ZERO fast food or restaurant food. And what was the result? Well, I look noticeably better. I got on the Tanita to see what IT had to say and according to the Tanita, I LOST weight and my bodyfat remained about the same. I LOST muscle mass (and that loss is reflected in my barbell bicep curl graph on my profile) Anyway, THAT’S the "wwwwooooops!" that I put as my title. I was hungrier lately, but I WAS eating more so I thought I was eating enough, but I guess I was wrong. <–terrible sentence there; guess I’m tired. I should have been counting calories more closely. I worked out for longer periods with more intensity AND I worked out more often and THEN I guess I didn’t eat enough. Overtraining. Well sh*t.
I thought about skipping my planned workout tonight to allow my body more time to recover. Triceps and chest were still a bit sore. But I don’t want to cut down on the workouts. I’m sorry but I don’t. . . .. . I just can’t do that. I need to get in the gym and lift. So, I decided I’d just eat MUCH MORE than I have been to compensate for the extra calories burned and the higher metabolism. If I eat more, it should help my body rebuild faster and help prevent the overtraining. . . .I hope.
Must also admit that I DID buy a bag of Reeses PB cups. The excuse? I need sugars right after my workout to replenish my muscle glycogen. Is THAT so wrong? ummmmmm . . . but I’ve been snacking on them every now and then too . .. ummm . .ooops?? I need the extra calories BUT those are some unhealthy freaking calories man! Anyway, I think I have it under control and I’m ONLY going to have the candy right after my workouts with my ON Whey protein.

The weight room was finally open again after the Easter holiday (rolls eyes) so I went in there tonight and got back to work. 1 hour 40 minutes tonight. 52 sets. Abs, Chest, Back, Shoulders, Bis, Tris. Pretty good workout, but I’m going to make some changes to my routine. I only did one exercise for abs tonight. I only did one exercise for biceps. . . . I need to do fewer muscle groups per workout and do 2 or 3 different exercises for each muscle group so I can hit the muscles from different angles . . . . basic bodybuilding knowledge there . . nothing groundbreaking. I hit shoulders from two different angles. Worked the chest from two different angles. But ONLY did dumbbell curls for biceps, Dip Machine for Triceps, and Crunch Machine for abs. I gotta do better than that. I’ll think about it and make adjustments.
On a side note: I’m supposed to write a 20 page paper about Warfare and Violence, but all my professor has talked about this semester it monkey sex . . . monkey sex? Yep, monkey sex. Monkey masturbation. Monkey incest. Monkey sex. See my predicament? Yeah that’s what $15,000 of tuition payments gets yah, monkey sex. (rolls eyes again) hahahahahaha holy sh*t. This is my life???? THIS is my life????! No wonder I’m teetering on the edge. (Another story for another time)

Got in forty sets tonight. I’m drained. Worked abs again. Gym’s gonna be closed friday, short hours on saturday, closed sunday . . . . . . . IF I’m gonna workout it will have to be at home. Every time things start to go well, something comes along to F it up! Aw wells.
I cut out the sugars the last few days, been eating cleaner, took my workouts to another level, been doing abs consistently for about a week now. We’ll see how long I can keep this up. I’m really jonesing for some chocolate. Geez.

Alright, I got in my 2 hour workout tonight. Well, an hour and fifty minutes, but that’s close enough. 43 sets. No new personal best on the bicep curl, but I matched my last personal best (8 reps each arm with the 50 lb dumbbells). I should be able to curl the 60’s but I’m not gonna try that until I can do 10 reps with the 50’s. I WANT to curl the 70’s so bad I can taste it, but that’s not gonna happen in the near future, maybe in 4-6 months??? Maybe?
Been using the dip machine to work the triceps and chest. It allows me to lift MORE than my body weight. Tonight, I did 200 lbs on the machine for the first time. It was WAY easier than I expected. I did 17 reps with that weight, and I’m planning to go heavier next time, maybe 230 lbs.
Worked abs again. I wasn’t in the mood to do abs, but I TOLD myself I was going to do abs EVERY workout for awhile, maybe a month or two, to see what happens. So, I SAID I was gonna do it, so I have to do it! I’ve been ignoring my abs for awhile and they need work. I suppose I should work my lower back more while I’m at it.
I’ve been focusing my attention on my arms for a month or two. Maybe I should get up to the 65 lb dumbbells or maybe 70 lbs and then FOCUS on something else like increasing my bench. Then, I can go BACK to my arms a couple months later and try to get to the 80 lb dumbbells . . . . . just thinking out loud here.

Another good workout. Wanted more time, but the weight room was closing. Still managed to get in 31 sets and a new personal best with the dumbbell curls. I’m up to 8 reps with the 50’s. I always enjoy making progress. When I started out, I couldn’t curl the 50’s. Now, I can do several reps with the 55’s and I SHOULD be able to curl the 60’s, even though I STILL haven’t attempted it. LOL The website says I should be able to do it, but I’m not going to attempt the 60’s until I’m virtually certain I can do it. Maybe when I can do 10 reps with the 50’s or 7 reps with the 55’s I’ll attempt the 60’s. Just not until I’m sure I can do it.
Not much else to say. Slow and steady progress. I see some of these guys on here that look HUGE and b*dass. Then I look at when they started lifting and see dates like 1996 and 1998. I’ve only been at it for about a year, so I don’t feel so bad. I’m sure after 10 years of this I’d I’ll look pretty huge too. Looking forward to it. I’m a patient guy, in it for the long run.

Feeling good. Got in a pretty good workout tonight. Sweated more tonight than I have in at least a month. I’ve increased the tempo of my workouts lately. Also, EVERY workout I do is AT LEAST 20 sets. I had a few workouts last month that were under 20 sets and that was just pathetic so, no more of that nonsense.
To sum things up, I’ve instituted a few changes. 20+ sets per workout. Incorporating a few new exercises into the workouts for a change / some variety. I’m going to work abs every workout.
It’s spring break so I have more free time. I’m going to try to get in a 2 hour workout at least once this week. Wednesday or Friday. I think I may also increase the minimum sets per workout from 20 to 30. Or at least a minimum of 25 sets per workout. I gotta step it up a notch and make sure I get adequate nutrition to actually grow. We’ll see what happens. I need to bust through this plateau I seem to have reached (1 rep max barbell curl).

Worked out on the 3rd. Worked legs pretty hard. Did Calf Raises. My legs were extremely sore for the next few days. I could hardly walk; it was very painful. This is common when I work out my calves. Anyway, my calves were so sore that I didn’t work out for awhile. I didn’t want to stress my body at all and I didn’t want to hobble around the weight room like I had a fork up my *ss. Worked out tonight and it was a pretty good workout. I had to do half at the weight room and half back at home. I’m REALLY upset that there were THREE days in a row that I didn’t work out. REALLY upset about that. I did that a bit last month because I was having some . . . "emotional issues" and I wanted to make up for it this month by working out EVERY OTHER DAY. I started out okay. Worked out on the 1st, then the 3rd, so far so good, but then I was HURTING. I wanted to work out. The rest of my body was fine, but my calves were killing me. I’ve only worked out 3 times in 7 days, WEAK! Anyway, calves are better now, I’m going to go easy on them so this doesn’t happen again. I want to get in a ton of workouts this month and increase my lifts and my lean mass! I want some more progress dang it! I want to be STRONGER dang it!
Arrrah!! Arrrrah!! Git some!!! I WILL be curling the 65 pounders by the end of the freaking month! Mark my words. Ah hell, and I’ll be doing 20 pull ups too. Let’s just do it. Why the hell not? Bigger and stronger!!!!!! I KNOW I CAN do it. So, I WILL do it. Period. No excuses. When I say I will do something, I DO IT. AAARRRAAAHHHHH!
Ah crap I have like 20 days. Sh*t. LOL. hahaha I better get to it.
