Probiotics

June 2, 2009

I was just wondering if anyone out there is using probiotics. I’ve heard mixed reviews. Some people say they don’t see a difference and some people say they make all the difference in the world. I’ve always had a delicate digestive system and am tired of fighting it all the time so I thought I’d give these little babies a try. I’ve only been on them a couple of days, so I haven’t felt any difference yet. I thought tho, I’d put the question out there and if anyone has any feedback, I’d be overjoyed to hear it. Thanks for any input. :)

Trainer MIA

April 7, 2009

I went to the gym last night after work expecting to meet up with my trainer forĀ our chest/back session. Did the warm up on the elliptical…. waited…. did some more cardio….waited….went to my car and called my trainer to find out where the heck he was…. left a message because he wasn’t there. Long story short, he didn’t show up.

I can’t even express how ticked off I am. I get a call from him at 8:30 last night and let it go to voice mail because I was too angry to talk to him. His excuse? He lost track of time…. and not for the first time. This has happened before.

Now, if I don’t show up to a training session and have no excuse, don’t call etc. I have to pay for the session anyway. I think I deserve a free training session because of the lack of professionalism on my trainer’s part.

Anyhooooo, I’m ticked off so I had to blow off some steam before I see him again so I don’t tear him a new one.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest (you know, the one that didn’t get worked out last night).

Supplements

March 25, 2009

I started on the L-Glutamine and Creatine last week because I’ve been reading about them and they seem like the popular supplements to take. I’m a little nervous about the Creatine as I’ve read about some of the side effects. The guy at the health food store said not to worry about it. Of course he’s gonna say that to get me to buy the stuff but I thought I’d take the chance anyway.

I’ve lost about 5 pounds in a week and don’t really know if it’s due to the supplements or because I’ve beefed up my workouts and am eating much cleaner (despite the cheescake incident LOL). I know that the 5LBS is probably water weight but it’s still nice to see the scale needle going in the right direction :)

If anyone has felt any side effects, would you let me know what to expect and how long they last? I’ve heard about lowever leg pain and some digestion problems, but I haven’t experienced any of that (yet).

Meanwhile, I’m just luvin this site. I find most people so encouraging and helpful. I think joining was definately another step in the right direction.

Whoever invented cheesecake…

March 24, 2009

I think whoever invented cheese cake should be slapped. My father’s birthday was on the weekend and try as I might, there was no way I was missing out on the dessert. This is definately a case of no meaning yes. Meanwhile, it’s daunting to think how many miles on the elliptical I’m gonna have to log to get it back off my thighs. I’m not made of stone, how do I resist these temptations? Do I have to enclose myself in a large plastic hampster ball?
