Hello,
I really do not want to be negative but I am going to use this blog to vent/rant about some things and then maybe my attitude will change.
1. I have not been working out as intensely as I should be…
2. I am stuffing my face with whatever…not taking my shakes either (out of milk, too lazy and broke to get more)
3. Didn’t go to the gym Tuesday or Wednesday
4. Feel like I am sick
However I went to the store yesterday and tried on a halloween costume and it looked phenomenal…
I DO NOT WANT to get on the scale because I am afraid of what I will find…I am scared that I have gained 3-4 lbs
I feel like shit…
I need to get pumped
What is wrong with me? Does this happen to any of you?

I did pretty good this WEEKEND. I went to the club and I did not drink 1 oz of alcohol. People were asking me if I was drinking, they wanted to buy me wine or just 1 light beer and I refused. I watched them get intoxicated 1 by when, each and every single one of them, and I just felt so good about myself. I was looking around the club and I didn’t really see anybody there that had a great body. Even people that weren’t fat, looked like they were skinny fat. I didn’t see anybody that was in great shape or anything so that made me feel even better/superior about not drinking.
Diet wise I also did well, no fast food! I ate out but I had sushi so that was okay, wish I asked for them to take the rice off the outside but it’s okay, next time!
Anyway I wanna get cut!!!!! I ordered a body fat tester from online and will be picking it up from UPS Today!

Here I am at work and I think I have done pretty well so far this week. The whole weekend thing really screwed me up, but that’s okay. Yesterday I did 47 minutes of cardio only, basically i did 30 minutes on the treadmill, switching from 13-15 incline and a speed walk to 3.0 incline and jogging. It was good. Today I will work out my triceps, bis, abs and do 10 minutes of cardio at the end of my workout. I do not think that I lost any weight but I have ordered a body fat tester online and it should be delivered tomorrow, I am kind of excited to see what my body fat is. Hopefully it’s not TOO TOO high…we’ll see I guess…
Oh by the way, my coworker today asked me if I work out and how often…and he said he was really big into working out…but he eats shit all day…drinks beer 24/7…WTF?
Lots of guys have huge biceps but a huge gut/stomach too. They think that’s cool. I don’t agree. In my opinion, getting in shape, working out, bodybuilding and fitness is all about symmetry and proportions and not about that bulky fat look. Just a thought!

ok I just finished weekend 2 of no alcohol and moving on to week 3 but guess what? I kind of messed up my diet. I went out to 2 different restaurants ( I tried to eat healthy) but it’s just so hard when you are not cooking your own food and know exactly what’s in it…
Saturday night - French restaurant - ordered Salmon over mixed greens and had Mussels for an appetizer (But GOD knows what was in the dressing and what the salmon was baked with)
Sunday night - Seared Ahi Tuna as an app and Crab cakes as an entree (only had like 5 bites of the crab cake entree) but a few bites of Bread pudding as well…
I know that it does not sound that unhealthy but I know it is…and I’m sure you all think it is too…cause you never know what is in the food when it’s prepared by someone else especially a restaurant…
UGH FEEL LIKE SHIT and i just set myself back again…but Ill be back on track …no worries…not the end of the world…

I know at least 5-10 people that think like this and really it PISSES ME OFF, because they are FAT…and know so little about diet, health and fitness.
Q: I’ve heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?!
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that’s it… don’t waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that’s like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of
vegetable products.
Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise
program?
A: Can’t think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain…Good!
Q: Aren’t fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU’RE NOT LISTENING!!!… Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they’re permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad
for you?
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It’s the best feel-good food around!
Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.
Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! ‘Round’ is a shape!

This weekend was awesome…I didn’t touch any alcohol, fast food or sweets. I had salad, grilled chicken breast, vegetables, protein shakes, oatmeal, cereal etc…Went to bikram yoga on Saturday and worked out my abs on Sunday. So here is my question/situation…
My gym partner, aka my boyfriend has a great physique. He is on the same page as me as far as working out but his diet is different. Instead of wanting to lose weight/gain muscle, he wants to gain weight/mass and muscle. That’s fine and dandy and works out perfect for our gym schedules because we do different workouts but we go to the gym together and it’s motivating but his diet plan is a bit different. He can eat Mcdonalds, Burger King, Wendy’s, Taco Bell, KFC etc whenever. I used to eat these things with him but now I can not afford to. I want to make it to my goal, I want to be fit, I want to lose weight, I want to gain muscle, I want to look and feel great, I want a Phenomenal body (like his). How do I overcome that obstacle? When he is in the car with me and he orders Mcdonalds and you can smell the burgers and fries and everything looks so good? This happened this weekend and I was okay with it. I smelled it, it smelled good but I kept thinking about my body and how I wanted to look and I avoided it. I guess the thing I am afraid of is breaking down and just ordering a sandwich or ordering chicken nuggets. How do you guys get around this type of obstacle and what’s a good solution?

I am completely amazed by this website. Not only am I amazed at the wonderful new facts that I am learning but I am amazed at the dedication that I see some people have on this site with their diet and their workouts. My main focus right now in my life is my career, my relationship and my body. I have come to a point in my life where I feel like I want to take good care of myself and my body. To give you a little background information on what I was doing and what I am doing now I will give you a break down.
1. I used to eat whatever, whenever, anytime
2. Alcohol was the same, whenever, whatever, anytime (2-3 times a week)
3. Workouts were strictly cardio for 30-35 minutes
4. Sweets, Sugars, Soda (especially Diet Soda) were also in my diet.
5. No fruits period
So now, as of June/July things started changing. I have changed my diet around. I cut down on drinking, I started doing weights incorporated with cardio, stopped drinking soda, cut down on juice, changed from white bread to wheat, white pasta to wheat, canola oil to olive oil/ pam spray, pretty much the works. I started seeing VERY slow results and maybe 2-3 lbs of weight loss. I also didn’t minimize my body fat.
Now that I have joined this website I have started to realize that it’s not a temporary change. It is a lifestyle change. I have made a promise to myself to stop drinking (at least try it out for 4 weeks) stop eating fast food, eat foods high in protein, less carbs and NO sugar. I drink mostly water but occasionally I get tired of water and take 1-2 sips of my boyfriends coca cola, but no more than that. I have been incorporating fruits and veggies into my diet and also do not consume more than 1200 calories a day. Any feedback would be appreciated, if I should maybe cut down more foods or work out harder?
A typical workout for me right now is 30 minutes of weights, depending on the day, I choose the muscle groups. When I lift, I lift hard now despite what people have told me in the past, which is to lift light and do more repetitions. I typically do 3 sets of heavy weights until I max out. I also do a 15-20 minute cardio workout 5 days a week, after lifting. Anyway thanks for reading and any feedback would be helpful!!!
