The Free And The Brave

Since joining this site, one thing I’ve noticed is that there are some women who start out on this site being very modest.

If they post pics at all, they’ll post pics in workout clothes, or bathing suits.

And then they start getting compliments and guess what happens.

"Oh!  You like my ass?  Well here’s an ass shot", as they plant the camera lense straight up their crack.

"Oh!  You think my ass is fine enough to wear a thong?", as they don thong after thong in all colors and embellishments.

"Oh!  My boobs look hot?", as they mount the camera to the ceiling and take a pic of their cleavage.

They start getting brave and post pictures that start becoming degrading.  Sure they’re free to post whatever they want.  But is posting compromising pictures in order to keep the compliments of strangers coming their way something that really raises their ego and makes them feel good?  Apparently so.

Wouldn’t they rather be complimented on the progress they’re making in losing weight and/or gaining muscle?

I suppose the attention they get can be addictive and they seem to go further and further to get it.  But, isn’t self respect a lot more appealing to have?

I’ve gotten PM’s telling me my ass looks hot and I should wear a thong to show it off.

A.  Thongs are THE most uncomfortable garment.

B.  I’m not going to dress in order to give you a boner.

Whatever pictures I post are to show either the progress I’ve made, or the progress I need to make.  It’s not to boost my self esteem by looking for ways to get compliments that reflect the horniness of the men giving them.

Believe me, I’ve gone to some of the profiles of guys I’ve seen giving "juicy" compliments to women and there’s no way I’d want any coming from them.  GROSS.

So i’m not gonna get to see your boobs? CRAP!! Actually i was just thinking the same thing, but these are the same women that will complain later about pervs and stalkers

    LMFAO.

When are you going to learn to express yourself? You really need to tell us what you think.

I completely agree with everything you posted.

I understand some folks need or desire to receive positive reinforcement, but why do I need to see your butt cheeks for that? You either have or have not improved. If someone has a shredded set of ass cheeks, maybe I could understand that picture, but not most of what I see on here.

What I really love is the ‘pretend’ disgust displayed by some of these same women. If you don’t want a hornball response to a progress picture, don’t dress in ‘f*ck me’ lingerie. Save that for the bedroom.

You always have a way of putting things. LOL

    Good post.

Our society degrades one person at a time… I have never understood the logic of taking up a sport to gain self respect and discipline, only to lose it by selling out that same respect via a public display of un-lady like promiscuity and humility. I suppose one could make the argument that the stroked ego is a happy ego, but I would argue that character and respect are far greater treasures one should try and achieve. I have grown tired over the years of women who argue that men just treat them like sex objects and yet, the very same women show very little respect for their own bodies when they put them on display for all to comment on… Give me a down to earth girl who wears sweats and goes into the gym with purpose… That I can show respect for… the rest are on their own…

Possibly, to some degree I can agree with you here. On the other hand, most of our society (at least in the U.S.) have an overwhelming fear of the human body. Most of it is religious in nature, another large portion is that most people are fat, and since they wouldn’t want to be seen lightly garbed, they don’t want others too either.

(Kind of a "why should they get to be proud of themselves if I can’t" type deal.)

If someone gets motivation from comments about their scanty photos, then more power to them. So long as it isn’t required of others, and also so long as they can brush off the rude commentators.

Although I’m not so sure the assumption is correct that just because a guy may enjoy a scantily clad picture that he’s getting excited from it. That’s just not true in all cases.

Shan… great post! I often get comments and PM’s from guys telling me to post pictures wearing thongs, or nothing at all. I just ignore them. I never respond to the posts/comments left by people like that.

Sure, they are free to comment however they would like since my pictures are posted on a public site. I accept that. But I certainly don’t need to respond to it.

My pictures are up to show progress… both good and bad.

And I would never post a picture that I wouldn’t want my family or co-workers to see. How can I set a good example for my children or make them understand the dangers of posting revealing pics on the internet for stalkers/pedophiles to see if I don’t live by example? And if even one co-worker were to find my site and see my pictures then it follows that everyone in my company (including my boss) could see them.

Of course, this is just me. Everyone is free to post whatever kind of pictures they want, but I rarely visit profiles of people who are leaving little, or nothing, to the imagination. And not because I’m a prude… I’m definitely not. But because that’s not what this site is about for me. It’s about health and fitness. Not soft-core porn.

    Wow…. didn’t mean to be so long-winded. :-)

I must admit I don’t mind the show but I also don’t choose to associate with those people. Furthermore dirty talking with someone 1000 miles away is both empty and a waste of time.

Good post… the visuals were hilarious.

  8. janthony Says:

Ha, it’s funny you say this. Because once the F*ck up, and post these pictures, they are THERE FOREVER. Never to be deleted again.

Sh!t, I save some of them in a file, just in case these people ever become famous (ha ha)

    Now there’s the entrepreneurial spirit!

  10. ashleyannbarker Says:

well in spirit of the progress pics you HAVE chosen to post… you are looking great girl, and making changes! i agree with you on all that crap too. i think that this can be an art form to take pics that show the muscles, but it’s a fine line between showing the art you’ve etched in your body, and showing your disrespect for this as a sport and form of art. the ones that cross the line are trashy though… keep the class going shan… we love you for it!

  11. J.X Says:

    My God - Fantastic post!!!

  12. HermTheWorm Says:

I NEVER once sent you a PM saying your ass looked hot. Not once.

I do it right out in the open in your comment section.

Sorry that you find me "GROSS", but hey, if the shoe fits…

  13. ArmdandFabulous Says:

    this is true…

  14. frank29 Says:

Well, there is a very nice chest here in this picture.

Of course, I am talking about the one behind you that has clothes in it.

    Sorry, couldnt help myself….:)

  15. HermTheWorm Says:

Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I may have signed off a PM or two with "BTW, nice ass".

    My bad.

  16. french_pedi Says:

thongs are imperative in order to prevent visible panty lines under jeans and skirts, shan. they are an essential feature of any civilized society.
