Phase II

June 9, 2009

Well, the fat is continuing to burn off quickly.  I’m now running over 4 miles every other day.  I’m doing 50 minutes on the Precor elliptical machine on the days I don’t run.  I also started my creatine loading today, so I expect to have an increase in my weight.  Overall, I am feeling strong and have another 15 lbs or so to go.  The 2009 SF NPC show is looking more and more doable!

Cinco De Mayo

May 5, 2009

Well, today is Cinco de Mayo.  This time last year I was 30 lbs heavier and drinking like a fish!  Times have certainly changed for the better……tonight I’m going straight home to eat salad and chicken, followed by an hour of cardio in the gym.  No bars, no booze and (thankfully) no hangover.  I feel great and am starting to get compliments on my progress!

No Life!

April 30, 2009

Well, the good news is that I am starting to catch glimpses of the old me in my physique.  The bad news is that I have no life!  Cardio, work, weights, more cardio, sleep.  I guess I should look at the opposite of that……..I could be waking up late, being tired at work, eating garbage for lunch, then drinking a few beers and crashing on the couch!  Where is the motivation in that????

Now that I think of it, I’ll gladly take my current lifestyle!

Week 8

April 29, 2009

Things are going well.  I’ve managed to drop almost 30 lbs of bodyfat and gain another 8 lbs of muscle.  I’ve increased my cardio to 50 minutes a night, 5 nights a week.  I’ve had a little bit of trouble at night waking up sweating profusely, but I guess that’s just from all the cardio and strict diet.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I will post my first progress pictures within the next week or so.  For the first time in several years, I have maintained consistency with diet, training and focus!
