I have always said, my favorite body part to photograph is the… Face. I love faces, they are fascinating to me and say a lot. This is IFBB Pro Larissa Reis a few weeks before she did the Olympia in Las Vegas. A great body to make the Olympia stage and to grace many a magazine, but I am just drawn to faces…

In the few weeks before the 2009 Olympia, I did photo shoots with a few of the competitors including the very popular Alicia Renee Harris. This is one of those photos, a little different from the standard figure photo, but I like it a lot. I hope you do too!

As one bodybuilder from England told one of the many television news reporters at the Muscle Beach competition on this Labor Day… "this is where it all started"! And that is why he and competitors from around the country and elsehwere around the world come to stand on the stage at Muscle Beach.

Over 80 competitors pumped up in the "Pit" and stood on the stage while an estimated 150,000 visitors and tourists walked the boardwalk at Venice Beach. And it was a great day for it too. Bright and California beach sun with a light breeze made it just like the Beach Boys sang about back in the 60’s.

So here are some show photos and also a few from the photo shoots I did back in the "Pit" with Moji Oluwa, Justin Hunter, Dan Decker and Victoria Kirsanova…

But you can never forget all the other fun stuff that Venice Beach is known for along it’s world famous boardwalk. Golden painted mannquins, flag raising, fashion statements, Mermaids, and inline skating Supergirls…

I had a visit yesterday from figure competitor Alicia Renee Harris for her photo shoot. And a better photo shoot it could not have been…

Alicia is out here from her home in Illinois with her next stop being the stage at the Europa in Dallas this weekend. But I always really enjoy learning about people and how they get into lifting and make it to the stage for figure bodybuilding or fitness or whatever they do in life. Alicia comes from a family of athletes, the Olympics, football, tennis, actually I lost track of all the sports and who did what. But you can sure see the genetics in Alicia of a family that does not sit around on the couch all day!

I hope you like this photo and I will post a few more in the next few days. And I do believe you will see her as the cover on Muscle and Fitness Hers this month, so check it out!
