In the few weeks before the 2009 Olympia, I did photo shoots with a few of the competitors including the very popular Alicia Renee Harris. This is one of those photos, a little different from the standard figure photo, but I like it a lot. I hope you do too!

I will be the first to tell you that I find photographing shows from front row center a little boring to do, and I think, a little boring to look at. So when I can, I try to get around and give you a different look.

I had a great time at the Olympia this year! And it was more than great to see and meet so many BodySpace members and BodyBuilding.com devotees! It was amazing how many of you stopped me and said Hi!! Thank You All So Very Much!

Anyway here is a photo from the finals with Jay Cutler winning the 2009 Mr. Olympia title. I think he was the clear winner…

Yes I will be at the Olympia!

Actually I was the very first photographer to be credentialed by the Olympia for BodyBuilding.com to shoot the Olympia just a few years ago. BodyBuilding.com since then has grown so fast and has done so very much for the industry in such a brief time that it is truly amazing.

Anyway one of my favorites was 2007, I really liked the photos that came out of that show…

And I have a couple of slideshows from 2007 online, the Mens Finals and Womens Bodybuilding Finals. Take a look and let me know if you like the photos too!

The NPC Tournament of Champions has always been a favorite show for a lot of people. In Southern California in Culver City on Saturday it was only two weeks away from the Olympia and super show producer and promoter Jon Lindsay brought to the stage top Olympia contender and fan favorite Silvio Samuel to guest pose…

And the overall mens bodybuilding winner was super heavyweight Rowdy Rusconi from Fresno California…

And there was certainly a lot of other great competitors…

The show was a good time. If you have the chance to see one of your local NPC shows, you should do it, great experience. Especially the shows in Southern California…

As one bodybuilder from England told one of the many television news reporters at the Muscle Beach competition on this Labor Day… "this is where it all started"! And that is why he and competitors from around the country and elsehwere around the world come to stand on the stage at Muscle Beach.

Over 80 competitors pumped up in the "Pit" and stood on the stage while an estimated 150,000 visitors and tourists walked the boardwalk at Venice Beach. And it was a great day for it too. Bright and California beach sun with a light breeze made it just like the Beach Boys sang about back in the 60’s.

So here are some show photos and also a few from the photo shoots I did back in the "Pit" with Moji Oluwa, Justin Hunter, Dan Decker and Victoria Kirsanova…

But you can never forget all the other fun stuff that Venice Beach is known for along it’s world famous boardwalk. Golden painted mannquins, flag raising, fashion statements, Mermaids, and inline skating Supergirls…
