I really enjoyed shooting at the Iron Man Pro this year. One of the big reasons is that I was not stuck shooting an inventory of people as they got on stage from the front row of the press section. For me as a photographer, it was much more creative and gave itself to creating what I think are wonderful photos of these guys as they competed in the first show of the season. It can be interesting to see what goes backstage during a show. These guys come together on the day of a competition and really have no idea what they might be up against. Jerome "Hollywood" Ferguson that is…

I was working today on delivering some photos to a client for the upcoming Iron Man Pro and FitExpo when I looked through my photos of my friend and competitor Jerome Ferguson. You really can’t go through a magazine or go to a show without seeing Jerome. But what struck me here at the beginning of a new year is the many great people I have met over the years in this business. Jerome is one of them but so are so many of you. Said to have among the best biceps in the business is Dan Decker. So while everyone is making New Year’s resolutions I thought I would post a photo of Dan from a recent photo shoot we did a few weeks ago. Maybe this will give you something to aim for…

This was actually photographed by me while Dan was doing warm up curls. But even with 30’s he gets the effect of a serious workout by squeezing and holding the curl at the top. For the rest of the shoot we moved up to 40’s. No fake weights in my photo shoots, when you shoot with me, you really work out.
