Ok this month it is our guy John Perry featured as our BodySpace Physique of the Month in Iron Man Magazine! I just got my copy today, it is the September 2008 issue and it shoud be on the stands this week too.

John came out to Palm Springs where we did his photo shoot at the Power of Fitness Gym.

I think John had a lot of fun but he did find out something about shooting with me that he wasn’t expecting.

When you do a photo shoot with me in a gym you don’t get to just stand around and look pretty. You really work out!

On some of my photo shoots I have another photographer come along to shoot some behind the scenes photos. Anyway these are from a little while back but I just happened to run across them. These photos are from a multiple day shoot I did with the reigning Ms. Figure America, Ava Cowan, for a workout series for a magazine that will be starting soon.

Care to guess who is the next BodySpace member to appear as the BodySpace Physique of the Month in Iron Man Magazine? It is coming up and on the news stands on August 1 and it will be the September issue. I know of course because I do the photo shoot and write the story.

I will give you a hint; it is NOT my good buddy, Jerome "Hollywood" Ferguson!

I expect by now that not too many of you have missed meeting and seeing BodySpace member XNick EdgeX. Always in the top BodySpace profiles for a very long time, Nick caught my attention as he had everyone else with his lean cut look and amazing abs. And so it was decided that he would be featured as the BodySpace Physique of the month for the July 2008 issue of Iron Man Magazine. Of course the lead time for magazines is typically a few months so Nick came out to shoot with me in Palm Springs on an unusually cold and windy and rainy day well before the Summer heat of July.

I did want to do this photo shoot outside because sometimes I just get bored always shooting in a gym. The temperature was in the low 40’s, the wind was blowing pretty hard most of the time and we were between rains. And as you can see, Nick does not carry much bodyfat to keep him warm. In between shots I would see Nick bravely tightening up for the next pose with his teeth chattering from the cold wind. But he did it for sure but I think he was pretty happy about the pre-planning I had done for this shoot and that we didn’t waste any time.

Anyway Nick has gone on since then with a growing career in the fitness business and you will soon be seeing more of him in the magazines for BodyBuilding.com. And Thanks Nick! I had a lot of fun doing that shoot!

Now 62, my buddy Bill Grant has not changed much over the last 35 or 40 years. He has held many a bodybuilding title and was in the 1977 movie "Pumping Iron" which made bodybuilding and Arnold famous. Today he continues to promote health and fitness in his travels, appearances, DVD workout series and charitable work. This is a photo I shot at Muscle Beach on Memorial Day with Bill in front of his banner with a photo of him from many years ago and in front of his Muscle Beach Hall of Fame Plaque.

It is that time again for another bodybuilding and figure competition at "Muscle Beach" at world famous Venice Beach California. July 4th is the Mr. and Ms. Muscle Beach show and it is always fun. So if you are around and want a lot of fun for the day, head out to Muscle Beach! And look for me, I will be there!
