Burgers And The Gym…
I have been so very busy shooting one magazine feature after another and at the same time doing more camera equipment evaluations. But I just had a chance to do something fun. My best friends at Iron Bodies Gym in Costa Mesa California had their Grand Re-Opening at their new location. This is a gym that is known for putting out some of the strongest lifters around and some top NPC newcomers. And if you want to learn how to really pose this can be the place to go. So what do you do for a gym Grand Re-Opening? Well you serve some good food…

Kurt rolled out a huge grill he brought from home and spent the day turning out burgers, chicken and hot dogs. Now this stack was not for some major double triple but for this crew it did only make about three burgers! So if you want a gym where you can really lift, grunting and yelling is the norm, dropping your weights is expected, and racking your weights is discouraged and considered best if you can throw that 75 pound dumbbell somewhere near where you picked it up, then Iron Bodies is your place. Check it out, just google Iron Bodies Gym or send me a note.

Thanks and keep coming back if you "Wanna See More…?"

You bet! I was in the best shape of my life when I worked out there!

Hi, Ian!
Thanks for helping to promote the gym at its new location, and for being such a great long-time member. Even though you live in Palm Springs now, you still are an IRON BODIES MAN in heart, mind, and…uh, well… BODY!
Keep up the great work, buddy, and keep visiting us from time to time. The additons are not done yet!
If the Costa Mesa Planning Commission finally approves our proposal, we may be adding an covered, enclosed outdoor patio with a boxing ring, heavy bag, weight lifting stations, and, of course, a LUNGES LANE to work those quads, hams, and glutes the old fashioned way!
The patio will be a great addition, and it will help us move out some equipment from the main weight room, so that everyone has more space to get the best workouts of their lives.
So, stay tuned, and prepare yourself to come back with your camera to document the changes AND get yourself another great workout with Larry.
We DEFINITELY want to see more!
Appreciatively,
Don

Ian, I just wrote a blog about aging. Nothing too philosophic. Regardless, I want to be YOU when I’m 57. You, sir, are truly my hero. (BodySpace seems to have the market cornered on heroes.)
Don, "LUNGES LANE"? I train at Planet Fitness where you can’t even whisper without a disapproving look. You’re gym sounds like Heaven.
Wishing you both continued success!
Maddi, wishing you success, too.

…
Okay, so Don and Maddi will probably never revisit this post. AND my students probably will never find there way here either. All the same, I’d like to correct this:
Your gym sounds like Heaven.
^^^^^^
There. I feel better now.
Ian, more blogs! More blogs! How’s your hectic schedule?
I hope all is well.

Dammit. "their way here" not "there way here."
I’m going to stop while I’m… behind! D’OH!

I am so glad you corrected that Curt. I was about to have a conniption.
You’res Truly, Maddi.

Grunting and yelling should always be the norm….
