It is not surprising that I have received a huge number e-mails asking to see more Jamie Eason photos from our photo shoot. So here is one more behind the scenes look at our studio session.

The last six weeks were among the busiest ever for myself and BodyBuilding.com. Starting out just before the Iron Man Pro in Pasadena California, I did a two day photo shoot with the wonderful Jamie Eason. If you have not seen Jamie in a magazine or online than you have certainly been living on another very boring planet.

Our first assignment was to do a studio shoot for images of Jamie for BodyBuilding.com to use in all kinds of future projects. By now you have seen the latest Jamie Eason wallpaper of the week which was created from one of these photos.

A photo shoot like this takes a lot of planning especially when it is taking place out of town for everyone. In this case, there was a studio to be rented and over $75,000 of lighting and camera gear were brought in to do the best job under any circumstance than might come up. Also on hand were a makeup and hairstylist, my lighting specialist and assistant, and my background photographer. Earlier in the day a digital tech helped me set up the medium format body and digital back for tethered shooting directly to a computer.

A lot takes place during the course of a shoot. There is the original makeup and hair styling preparation, review of wardrobe and then changes to all of it during the course of the day. And yes we do send out for food and take a few breaks becuase it really is a lot of work. No pizza and beer though, as you might expect, food brought in for photo shoots in this business has to be pretty clean. And we always have on hand a 5 lb container of protein powder and shaker bottles.

On the second day it was off to the gym. In this case, Gold’s Gym in Pasadena, CA. This gym is just huge and has everything you might want. The Gold’s Gym staff could not have been more helpful. Something that sets this gym apart is that it also has an entire section outdoors. And on a beautiful sunny Southern California day what could be nicer! Yes I did make Jamie workout and what I found out about her is that she can lift pretty heavy. But we kept it to medium weights. A photo shoot in the gym can make for more work than someone might think and I sure don’t need any injuries.

We had a lot of fun shooting photos over those two days and it was a lot of work. Right afterwards we went right on to cover the Iron Man Pro.
