A little news from the business side of bodybuilding. Many of you know Iron Man Magazine star photographer, Bill Comstock. Well Bill is moving on and leaving Iron Man Magazine. I confirmed the news with him yesterday at the NPC Border States competition in Anaheim California. Bill will now be with Muscular Development Magazine. Bill tells me that he really enjoyed his time with IM but he is looking forward to some new opportunities that will come with his position at MD. What most people don’t know is that Bill only picked up a still camera a very few years ago. His expertise is really in cinematography. So we can expect to see some fun stuff from my good friend Bill Comstock.

And on the sixth day….

It was six days in Las Vegas for me at the Olympia this year. On assignment for BodyBuilding.com, I photographed everything from the press conference on Thursday through the end of the Mr. O on Saturday night. But I actually arrived in Las Vegas on Wednesday to get ready for two other big events, the weddings of Bob Cicherillo to his wonderful partner Tocha, and the wedding of figure pro Jessica Paxson to rising bodybuilding star Peter Putnam.

Both weddings would be at Caesar’s Palace on Sunday following the Olympia. As an experienced wedding photographer I got ready by meeting with the Caesar’s wedding staff on Wednessday and then brought in my second wedding photographer and my makeup artist/hairstylist on Friday and Saturday. It was a lot of fun and a lot of work that ended this Olympia with a big finish. You can read about it on the Olympia Blog, at http://blog.bodybuilding.com/OlympiaBlog. Thanks!

I am back from Las Vegas as of Monday. That was some endeavor! I might have been more worn out than Ronnie or Jay. And I was still shooting and working on Sunday and Monday. Not only did I shoot the Olympia for BodyBuilding.com but on Sunday I was the wedding photographer for two of our own at Caesar’s Palace. Bob Cicherillo tied the knot and then figure pro Jessica Paxson was married. And I shot both of their receptions with the help of my second wedding photographer and my makeup artist.

The Olympia itself was an 18 hour a day work effort on my part between shooting, editing and uploading photos so they could be on the website as soon as possible usually within a couple of hours of each event. The BodyBuilding.com team works really hard while everyone else is sleeping to get as much coverage as possible online and fast.

This was a really fun Olympia despite the long hours. I did not get to spend much time at the Expo which was a disappointment but I did get to see a lot of my friends. One of the most amazing things to see was Ronnie as Moses. That was one creative entrance to a competition. It really did make for a few great photos and it was without question, unique. It was a highlight I won’t forget.
