Ok I took a few days away from "business". My business of course is photography and I do live, eat and breathe photography 24 hours a day 7 days per week. I love it! But I did get away for a couple of days and that is why I have not posted any bodybuilding or fitness photos this week. But I did shoot some other photos while I was away like where I stayed…

Where I was at night for a few drinks…

But the hotel did have a nice gym and an indoor pool, quite opulent…

On the way out of town, last stop was world famous Canter’s Deli, I had not been there in many years…

Anyway back to work! Next stop for me is Las Vegas this weekend for Fitness America. So I will shoot more of the photos you might expect to see here when I get back.
Thanks and keep coming back if you "Wanna See More…?"

Not all of my photo shoots are in the gym or on a competition stage…

BodySpace member Ali Harris is getting ready to do the NPC Excalibur on December 5th in Southern California so she sent me a note to see if I would be interested in doing a photo shoot with her. For one thing, at the beginning of the year I photographed Ali for the Iron Man Magazine Physique of the Month, so I already knew I loved working with her. And I needed a model for a photo shoot for new designer fitness wear from DennisDennis. It was perfect…

I hope you think it was perfect too!

I am very proud to have been selected as a featured photographer on PhotoShelter, a community of approximately 50,000 photographers from part time semi-professional shooters to some of the most famous photographers in the world. And it was my Olympia photos this year that got the attention and specifically this one of Phil Heath on stage at the finals…

So when you get a chance go visit my PhotoShelter website and check out the photos and let me know what you think!

I have always said, my favorite body part to photograph is the… Face. I love faces, they are fascinating to me and say a lot. This is IFBB Pro Larissa Reis a few weeks before she did the Olympia in Las Vegas. A great body to make the Olympia stage and to grace many a magazine, but I am just drawn to faces…

Yes, I do so think black and white photos in bodybuilding can be very unique. Here is one from a series I shot with bodybuilder, Sean Jones…

And you can see some more from that photo shoot in the gym and also some photos in a more unusual setting right here in a slideshow.
I hope you enjoy them, let me know, please!

A comment by SuperVic in my prior BodyBlog post by SuperVic2007 made me think of this. He said “As an aside - Love the B&W” about one of my Mr. Olympia photos.
Well it reminded me that I love black and white photos too, I like seeing the great black and white photos of the past and I like shooting black and white photos. And when I get the chance I shoot black and white film photos very often. Also I do know that many of you at this point in time have no idea whatsoever what I am talking about when I say film
But anyway, not long ago I photographed a series in the gym on black and white film with BodySpace member “numberonegt” Anu McKnight. You can see these unique photos from that shoot HERE in a slideshow. And here is one to take a look at…

Anu has also done really well on stage at Muscle Beach, looks great and a very creative poser!

I previously posted a link here in my BodyBlog to my 2009 Mr. Olympia photos. It was interesting to see in the last few weeks which were the 3 most viewed photos, so here they are…
Jay Cutler, the 2009 Mr. Olympia…

And Dennis Wolf, who placed 13th…

From the past shows I have seen, Dennis Wolf also has been a crowd favorite, so maybe he is the guy to watch. What do you think?

When you do a weightlifting photo shoot with me, we really do go into a gym and workout. I had bodybuilders Brian Yersky and Dan Decker in the gym a few weeks ago for a shoot that encompassed a lot of body parts. The guys did workout for sure. You can see the entire shoot here in a slideshow from the gallery of the photos. And here is one, doing some leg press, not too heavy, 4 plates on each side…

By the way, training with a partner is one of the best things you can do to make big gains and stay safe. It is the way I personally built up to do my heavy lifting along the way. But you do have to find a workout partner who is equally as motivated or you will end up using each other for excuses.

In the few weeks before the 2009 Olympia, I did photo shoots with a few of the competitors including the very popular Alicia Renee Harris. This is one of those photos, a little different from the standard figure photo, but I like it a lot. I hope you do too!

And here is a full gallery slideshow of her photo shoot!

I will be the first to tell you that I find photographing shows from front row center a little boring to do, and I think, a little boring to look at. So when I can, I try to get around and give you a different look.
So here is slideshow of my photos from the 2009 Olympia 202 class pre judging from around the stage. And here is one from those photos, Mark Dugdale digging deep…

I hope you enjoy them and here is the slideshow link again…. Photo Slideshow
Let me know what you think!
