My Last Weigh-In Before Bulk was today…

I woke up, went to the gym, and weighed in at 177lbs. That is almost 20 pounds since January. Its great and stuff but I need to bulk up now. I lost the weight without the muscle definition. We all know what that means-skinny fat. Im too skinny and now I want to start clean bulking. Monday I will doing this, along with a stack and a new Fst-7 routine.

I hope this goes well, I am afraid of gaining fat and I just dont want to be like I used to………emphasis on clean i guess.

My dang back.

I am still recovering from a back sprain. I cannot lift. My day consists of going about my business, remember to sit up straight, and trying to eat clean. I ice my back, followed by heat (sauna mmm). I stretch it slighty, I think I would like to go ahead and try some yoga or pilates. I have done them in the past and they were great. I want to finish out my anti-inflammatory medications before I lift.

On that note. Whiile I recover I am trying to cut back on some calories and eat extremely clean. (read previous post) Also, I am getting more fresh fruits in than before. I drink a lot of water. After my meds are done I will going on a mass stack as well as a clean bulk. I am not certain what my goal is exactly and I need to decide on one. I will be bulking throughout the summer though, I am not too worried about the whole shirt off business until next year.

My Spring Break Binge

I was in Panama City, FL. for spring break. It was a blast, and I put my training and worries behind me for a week and just enjoyed myself.

Except now Im in one of those SERIOUS downward curves. I did NOTHING good for my body over that week. In fact, I was so crappy with my progress I actually got a flu or a cold or something.

On top of that, I have that very bad back strain. Today, thanks to icing, sauna, and hot showers along with laying around I have had no spasms. I cant train according to the doctor, and though I want to I know I shouldnt. My diet is still shaky but getting back on track. I went to the store tonight and stocked up on my good stuff. In about 1 week or so I can get back into training, though light. I wanted to start bulking but I am afraid I cannot lift that kind of weight yet. If I injure this any more I cant do anything so I know I just need to lay low. Any suggestions on what I can do?

Today is Friday, I had to miss yesterday due to extremely busy schedules. I dont like doing that but I strained my back doing a squat on Tuesday so the two days of rest actually helped alot. I had french toast with blueberries today and I honestly do not think there is one thing about that meal that is redeeming, the blueberries were not very fresh. Its OK though, because I wanted a cheat meal. I will probably eat another one tomorrow.

So anyway I have to do Back/Bi/ AND Shoulders today. A bigger split than usual. I might consolidate to 3 heavy lifts each body part. Then some abs and some interval cardio. I have favored jumping rope recently.

Its saturday today, a chest day. This week I did Mon: Back, Tues: Legs, Wed: Arms (not usually), Thurs: Rest, Fri: Shoulders. I have been so sick this week its not fun at all and my workouts have been not as good as usual. Today I had 34 dollars. I went to Panda Express for a cheat meal, it was going to be a cheat DAY but I cant afford it, and I am going out tonight probably so I need a little money. I am sitting on the couch writing this because, quite frankly, I have no motivation. I am going for sure, but I have to wake up a little bit and get ready to GO.

Today is chest. I think I am going to go with the 3 major bar presses, and mix in some pushups. Maybe some flys.

Not a good start to the day.

I have been lifting hard for a month, so today would have been one month since I started. I got up, measured myself, and then took pics. They show no change, despite all my clothes fitting better and my I feel like I am making so much progress. I am a little bit pissed off. Also, I could not use the same location and the location I used to take them was jacked up in a corner. Yes I am mad.

I am afraid to eat.

I am afraid to eat after I lift. I lift heavy and am trying to get muscle, and I know that I HAVE to eat, but I have a mental block that I am going to get fat.

Good week

January 31, 2009

So it was a good lifting week. Did some deadlifts (first time ever) and nailed my shoulder workout today. Feels really good. Also weighed myself and came to the conclusion I am not losing any muscle, also a good thing. I look better too, and for it only being a month I am really excited.

Some things i learned: 1. I have to eat. I have a phobia about eating late at night after I lift, but if I am honest with myself I know I have to eat if I want to reach my goals. 2. Form is incredibly important on every single exercise. 3. Not everyone in the gym is a pompous douche, and I have met some incredibly helpful people. I just dont think its cool to talk shit about people you dont know/beginners. We all have to start somewhere.

Next week: Eat, hit my arms hard (didnt do it this week), and keep working and setting personal records.

Another good meal I made up today

I am still keeping up with my cooking. Today I made something else amazing which I shall refer to as my version of chicken carbonara, without the creamy sauce.

So first I marinate a chicken breast (doesnt really matter what marinade you like to concoct). I simply then just cook up some WW spaghetti and mix the two together. I added turkey bacon pieces and covered it with an italian vinaigrette dressing. It was awesome. Will make again.

Then tonight I sprinkled some cocoa powder on top of some cottage cheese and forgot how far a little bit of cocoa powder can go in stuff.
