I’m very disappointed! I hit the gym today, feeling great. I was well rested, and had tons of energy. The first exercise I did confirmed that it was going to be a great workout. I flat-benched 225 for 12 reps. That’s not extraordinary, but I haven’t done that in some time. We arrived at the gym around 4pm, going by the usual schedule, when the gym was open 4-10pm. Today, however, the hours were changed, and were unannounced. The gym closed at 5pm. We were able to get in 1.5 circuits. The hours changed for finals week. Why they changed on a Saturday? I have no idea.
It’s frustrating that this school sends out emails for every unimportant little piece of information, like Gospel Fest ‘07, and other smaller events to people, but they can’t inform us of changes to the gym schedule. What makes it worse is that the gym’s closed all day tomorrow.
Anyways, I’m going on my run soon. Hopefully I’ll have time to update.

My apologies for not updating or getting back to PM’s or wall postings, etc. I’ve been so busy with school, all I’ve had enough time for is to do homework, train, and do more homework and studying. That being said, on to the workout!
Nice workout today. I didn’t have great energy going into the gym, but I picked it up eventually. The semester is winding down, so I’m happy to spend my last days on campus in the place that I’ve spent every day since I’ve been here. I actually upped the weight on the majority of my exercises, which I’m happy with. I hope to max out on flat bench later this week. I’m really hoping to get 310 lbs for a new PR. That’s being done without any creatine too, so I feel that’s pretty decent.
Run was nice today. No HIIT, so it was completely relaxing. Very nice for a change. I love HIIT, but sometimes it’s just nice to enjoy the scenery and weather. I’m really suffering from Plantar Fascitis, hurting mainly in my heel. I’ve had it before, so I’m doing exercises for it. The only problem is that the pain is in my heel, not the arch, like it was before. Still, I’ll do my best to fight through the pain. In the end, I may have to take some time off, just so I can get over it. My heel throbs while there’s no pressure on it, so that’s not a good sign.
Hopefully it’ll feel better for tomorrow!

After last night, my shins hurt really bad. So bad, that I was considering taking Thursday’s cardio session off, to try to recover. No need now, as I felt great while doing HIIT tonight. Even though I got about 4 hours of sleep today, the cardio felt good, so I’m hoping that I sleep well tonight. This was the time last week that I went a couple of days without significant sleep, so I’m a bit cautious, but optimistic.
Tomorrow, I’ll be in the gym for the circuit workout, then hitting the canal for some cardio!

I got so sick of wearing a few extra pounds of clothing when it was cold outside! It’s great to be able to run in shorts and a shirt again! Tonight was 6 miles of HIIT. Felt really nice, there was a breeze the whole time, so it kept me from getting overheated. Before I even reached 1 mile, I had to stop and stretch out. My shins were killing me. It gets to the point that it’s hard to move my foot, the pain is so strong. I’m doing my part to ice them, more than ever. It’s really the only part that makes me cautious about running, because it hurts quite a bit. I had to stop several times to stretch, and eventually I loosened up. It seemed to take forever, but it’s encouraging that I felt fine after about half of the workout.
Tomorrow, I’ll be back in the gym, then probably another run.

Amazing weather here! Finally! It’s so nice to run in the sunshine! I usually run at night, after the gym, but this time, I couldn’t resist running in the day to be out in the sunshine. I was a bit tired, but the joy of being out in such gorgeous weather kept my mind off of it.
The gym workout was good. No skipped sets, no going easy on the weight. During the one of the last circuits, I realized I hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast, and I ran at 5, then hit the gym at 8. That hasn’t happened too many times. Seeing how I didn’t have a pre-workout meal, I’m happy I had the energy to make it through!
I’m pretty happy that this week is over, after all the missed sleep! My hope is to sleep well every night this week, and finish this semester, and my undergraduate career on a high note!

Usually it gets frustrating when I don’t sleep for a couple days at a time. This time, not so much. I’ve dealt with it very well. I haven’t skipped any parts of the workout at all, which is something that I pride myself on. On days when I have little sleep, I’m just thankful that I really enjoy running and lifting, because I do it regardless of the sleep that I get.
The circuit workout took longer than expected tonight, I was dragging it a little. It’s hard at times to stay focused, my mind tends to speed up and wander when I haven’t had sleep. Anyways, I’ll head to bed soon, hoping that I rest well to make up for the past few days.

I remember having a great workout yesterday, and then I remember thinking about it the whole night. I can honestly say that I didn’t sleep a minute last night. Extremely disappointing!
On to tonight’s workout. I planned on running 8-9 miles, but knew when I was getting ready that I didn’t have the mindset or the energy for it. Instead, I decided to do HIIT for 6 miles. Wise decision! It kept me interested, and made time pass quickly. I actually really enjoyed it. I might switch to doing HIIT every other cardio day to keep things fresh. I can’t really complain with the workout, at least I made it work, rather than skipping a day because I was fatigued.
Circuit workout and cardio tomorrow!

Today was a great day. I could tell about 45 minutes before my workout that the focus and energy was there. It couldn’t have come at a better time. With a workout stretching to over 3 hours, I needed it. In the gym, squats killed me. Legs, overall, fatigued me today. I was sweating before hitting the legs circuit, but that just bumped it up to another level. After finishing squats, I was dripping sweat. I can’t remember sweating that much ever, and I usually sweat quite a bit.
During the run, there was no cramping or anything along those lines. The weather is getting nicer, so that make the run that much easier. I don’t enjoy throwing on several pounds of clothes to stay warm, so this is a pleasant change. I’m still keeping the cardio low so that I don’t aggravate the leg injuries. I’m doing what I can to ice them and keep them stretched out. Every thing’s feeling good at this point. I’m happy with this workout today. Tomorrow, I’ll be running. I’m aiming for 7-8 miles, but we’ll see if I can go over that.

Wednesday, I had to take a day off, and just stretch. The pain in my leg became worse as the day went on on Tuesday. It feels much better today, so I’m hoping all the icing and stretching helped and that I’m a quick healer. I hate to take a day off, but it’s hard to justify continuing on when you’re in that much pain.
I’m going to the gym in a few minutes, hopefully I’ll get a run in tonight too!

I ran early this morning, as a change of pace. It was nice, except the same pain in my shins was there again today. I expect the pain to go away very soon, but it may be one of those injuries that I just have to pound through until it starts feeling better.
I’ll be in the gym tonight for the circuit workout, hoping that I’m well rested. I plan to update after the gym.
