First week down!

August 1, 2008

Hello to my fellow challengers.  I hope everyone stood their ground and stayed true to their goals.  My first week of the challenge has been very good.  I did not have a cheat day.  I knew I would have to write it down and report, so that was enough to stop me.

I hope to get my legs stronger, because presently, my right leg is stronger and larger than my left.  I hope as time moves on, that I am able to maintain my weight and increase my muscle mass.  Not sure whether I am eating enough.  I have included a few pictures taken in July.

Quads...grow already...lol    Side view quads    Spot the frog :-)

Here is my intake for Tuesday:

5:15am - N.O.Xplode; 5:30am - workout; 7:20am - eggs(3white, 1 yolk), broccoli, cheese, oatmeal; 10:10am - yogurt with grape nuts and a nectarine; 12:50pm - tilapia, broccoli, sweet potato; 2:15pm - almonds(10); 4:00pm - salmon, almonds(10), cup of tea; 6:40pm - nectarine and protein shake; 10:00pm - plum.

The times I eat vary, plus or minus an hour or so. It all depends on the day really.  The list above is what I normally eat, but I think I should have eaten more. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have a good weekend and continue to stay cheat free!

Newbie blogger…Last Man Standing & Baby Got Back Challenge

July 25, 2008

As my title states, I am a newbie when it comes to blogging…so here goes.  For the Last Man Standing Challenge, I plan to eat clean and not cheat.  I am good about eating while I am at home, but once I am at work, it’s another story.  There are enemies(snack tables) everywhere.   I did okay this past work week, except I was shot by a mini snickers and two caramel chocolate bullets.  They hurt so good, but the good feeling quickly faded.

With that said, my goal is to eat clean and increase my veggie intake…broccoli is my favorite…yumJ.  I intend on eating 5-6 meals each day and don’t let work throw me off track.  Going to the gym in the mornings before work is a normal part of my life.  I have an injury to my left knee that prevents me from running L, and I cannot always do squats or leg extensions.  For the challenge, I will work at getting my legs stronger and toned, pay more attention to my lower body overall.  I am not looking to lose weight, just body fat.   I will have to get my present body fat checked, so I have something to start with.

For the Baby Got Back Challenge, I hope to continue with my lower body focus and tighten up my butt.   Have a smooth flow from my butt into my hamstrings.  I suppose I will have to get some pictures taken and get measured as well.  Oh joy, just what I wanted.  I am looking forward to the challenges and I feel confident that I CAN DO IT!  All the best to the other challengers…may we all stay focus on our goals.
