Correction…

December 15, 2008

Yes type 1 diabetes is genetic, however I was refering to type 2 aka "adult onset diabetes".  While not everyone with type 2 diabetes is overweight, obesity and lack of physical activity are two of the most common causes of this form of diabetes. It is also responsible for nearly 95% of diabetes cases in the United States, according to the CDC.  These are facts not opinions.

American’s are soooo LAZY!

December 14, 2008

Being that I’m a nurse I am always surrounded by diabetics.  It’s sad and some what pathetic at times to see how most people would rather manage they’re blood sugar problems by poping a pill or taking a shot of insulin.  Do they relize what they are doing to themselves? The costs of long term unmanaged blood sugar are great, it leads to many other health problems.  I just want everyone to know that if they followed my diet, (or the diet of any bodybuilder for that matter) Im 99% sure there would be no diabetics in this country.  Following a clean eating diet is all about managing you blood sugar and keeping consistant, never allowing it to spike up or down.  Im just venting here so dont mind me….it’s just sad that everyone is so lazy these days.  Nothing that’s worth having is ever easy….so work hard and eat clean! :) -much luv!

It’s tough out there on your own!

October 27, 2008

I was just thinking today…my trainer is seriously the only person I have around me who constantly inspires me to push harder and keep up with my diet. Im getting no love from family or friends, they dont understand my dedication. All I hear is "Why are you eating that???", "You need to fatten up!", "You’re going to the gym again?!". It’s frustrating sometimes with all this negative energy. Thats why Im so happy I found this website…all of my Bodyspace friends are very supportive! Even the short comments I get from time to time is encouraging, and very much appriciated! So if anyone out there is feeling like me, turn a deaf ear to the negative people in your life and head to Bodyspace!!! LOTS OF LOVE EVERYONE!!!! Btw, please take a few seconds of your time and vote for me on "Iron Man’s Model Search" -it would mean so much! :-)

Fueling your body…

October 22, 2008

So here’s what I ate today…this is my typical diet.

*6:00am: Oatmeal & Banana

*9:00am: South Beach Protein bar (210cal. -19gm of protien)

*12:00pm: Tuna & 1 cup of fresh fruit

*3:00pm: Yoplat lit yogurt & 90cal granola bar

*6:00pm: Grilled chicken salad w/ Fat free dressing

*9:00pm: handful of raw veggies

Now understand my diet is not perfect, ideally you should stay away from man made food as much as possible…but when you work 12hr shifts it’s difficult.  I substitute in protien shakes here and there too. In general eat mainly complex carbs and lean protien. Eat most of your carbs in the morning…and alomost none at nite. Drink your 8 glasses of water a day and shoot to comsume 1 gram of protien per your body weight.  So I should be eating 115 grams….which Im not getting….but Im working on it! haha

Crazy!

October 22, 2008

Im sure you all know that to be physically fit the general rule is that it’s 85% diet, 10% training, and 5% genetics.  A few days ago I did cheat alittle with my diet, I had a few cheese sticks…lol. But it was so weird that I saw it the next day….seriously cheese sticks! I was puffy, and softer around my stomach. Needless to say I’ve stayed on my diet since then and I am back to normal.  Just think about it you can only spend so long in the gym, but you’re eating all day long. You are fueling you body, so give it best gasoline you can and you WILL see results! Happy eating!!!!! :)

Bonjour…

Honestly I get so sick of working so hard at the gym and following my diet and not seeing the results fast enough! I know good things come to those who wait…but seriously come on already! lol. I want to be ripped like yesterday, not 6 months from now!
