im so sore

March 26, 2009

ive changed my eating habits. ive started to eat less carbs in order to lose body fat while still eating 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per body pound a day. i did legs on monday and im still sore. my chest and shoulds hurt so much i cant even wash my back, and i just did back today and the stiffness set in shortly after my training was complete. it was made clear to me that one reason why is that it is because i am either not eating enough carbs post-workout, or am not eating enough through out the day for proper recuperation (i think i spelled that right) and repairing of muscles. im going to start taking papaya extract to help with lactic acid build up, but i really think its because of my diet. changes are going to have to be made period because i cant live like this, no one should have to.

amazing leg day today

March 9, 2009

i had an amazing leg day today!! for the first time in my life, i squatted 315 and not just once, but 3 times!!! i was told that i hit either parallel or below parallel every time, and it felt amazing!!! i changed my squat stance and i think its helped me with adding more weight and putting out more power. ive started to take a more powerlifters squat stance, which is a little wider then shoulder width. ive also started incorporating sumo-style deadlift into my lifts to help with quad and hamstring strength. i firmly believe that by doing so has not only made me stronger but will continue to allow me to increase my squat and increase my overall thigh size. ive also noticed my glutes are starting to shape a little more, so that is also a great thing since shaping your ass is pretty hard, especially if you have a naturally bigger behind then others. i cant wait to see what happens down the road. im hoping i can squat 405 by june/july. i cant wait!!! the only thing that sucks is driving home afterwards when you can barely walk after such a lift. o well, im not gunna stop anytime soon.

more blood, sweat and tears…

February 27, 2009

got my body fat tested. not exactly what i was hoping for, but owell. my last testing was before thanksgiving, and it was at 16%. i went a little over-board with eating at both thanksgiving and xmas breaks and was disgusted after new years with myself and started to change. it is now 14%. i know im stronger. i know i have more muscle mass. i was just hoping for a little less. thats ok though. it just means i have to go harder with training and even more so with my diet. we will see what it is in a month or two. im hoping for 10% by may, and maybe 8% by july/august. i dont think that is an unreasonable or unobtainable goal. it just means im going to have to be more careful with my diet and up my cardio. im not worried, it just means more blood, sweat and tears will be needed to obtain what i want, and that is more and better results. period.

it’s been a few days

February 26, 2009

well it’s been a few days. classes have been kicking my butt with these retarded mid-term exams and what not. it’s been making training a little harder because of the late night studying, but i’m still putting in my time under the iron. I had a few personal records this week, so even though there was added stress, my lifts haven’t suffered. i wont be updating my lifts for probably another couple of weeks, probably right before spring break because i dont feel it is necessar just yet. my main concern is getting my dead-lift and squat up. everyone wants to train their upper-body, no body wants to feel the pain in their lower-body. i just hit my legs for the second time this week, and i can already feel the strength going up. im really excited cuz tomorrow is BODY FAT TESTING!!! im super excited. i havent had my body fat tested since before thanksgiving, and it was at 16%. im hoping its around at least 12%, maybe 10%. that would be great!! my weight hasnt really decreased, by i know im harder, stronger, and leaner then i was a few months ago, but we will find out tomorrow for sure. owell. thats enough rambling for now. ill update with my body fat tomorrow, regardless of change or not.

well…

February 21, 2009

well today is saturday, and i can honestly say i cant wait til monday. i havent slept very well the past couple of days. ive been cramping up in my sleep and i cant seem to stay asleep for very long. i was going to try to go for a light run in the late morning, but walking around the house felt like i was about to start cramping in my calves and the balls of my feet. i think it may be because of my overload training that has been taking place the past month or so. my body is responding very well as far as my gains are concerned, buy i think my physical health/well-being is taking a huge beating. my face is thinning out, my bags under my eyes are growing. i seem and feel like a zombie except for the 90 minutes to 2 hours of training that i do. i dont believe in taking sleeping pills, so that is NOT an option. im cycling off my zma for the next couple of weeks, which really really helped me sleep. so i dont know. im probably only going to be able to keep up this type of intensity and frequency of training for the next 2 weeks or so. im not over-training, but thats the number 1 thing that scares me right now. i know ill be do for some sleep soon. i just hope it comes sooner rather then later.

training so far…

February 20, 2009

today, friday, was not unlike any other day. i couldnt sleep very well last night. my body kept cramping up in my calves, legs, shoulders, chest… even in the balls of my feet. so the sleep i had was not very good. i was going to do a simple full body workout, since this past week has been a pretty hard week for training, having already hit all bodyparts at least twice this past week, including one hell of a crossfit on wensday. so i wasnt planning on going too hard today, just enough to get my heartrate up, sweat a little, and push a medium weight around. but today i set a personal best record…. i have finally hangcleaned 225 pounds 3 times. it was amazing. how is it that whenever u dont feel like going heavy, u end up going heavy?? either way, it felt great and i cant wait to see my powerclean go up and even my clean and jerk. i only know that the rest of my lifts will improve from my heavy training… until next time
