I love weight training! Both when I'm doing it, and the shape it gives my body. For me too, I like feeling powerful and being able to lift heavy stuff that my females friends find too difficult (shopping bags, boxes, etc.)

That's good advice for women who haven't tried it yet - if you don't like what it does for you, you can always stop.

I love this post! It reminds me a little bit of myself when I first started working out at 16. I used to do a ton of cardio, but I was always intrigued by weights. It's funn because there were a total of three machines that I knew how to use and I would ONLY do those: the tricep dip machine, leg adductor, and leg abductor haha. Thank God for research
Keep doin your thing girl...you look amazing!!!

Hey Karla - you are so hot!! Just want you to know that i’m a girl who's been getting into the lifting culture and love to check your photos for inspiration. I love that your proud to be strong. My ex b/f got a little miffed when I started to lift and soon could out squat and deadlift him - basically I had stronger legs than his matchsticks (he’s a cute singer type). He said that no guys would want to date me. The funny thing is, I know it turned him on and since, every guy I meet loves me having muscle. Even when i’ve dated skinny musician guys (I guess they’re my type), they get turned on when I wrestle them down. Anyway, probably too much info for you but I wonder if you’ve had similar experiences, being so curvy and feminine but so strong?

Haha, what is it with the damn dominant side. Even when ya try balancing it out, dominant side still takes over. Havin the same problem. And I always concentrate on pushing harder with my left side (im right side dominant) and still nothing! Oh well, at some point I will concentrate on this matter more. I think I need to BUILD muscle first before I start to focus on specifics in detail.

Great job at the gym! Enjoy your back day tomorrow.

I'm so happy for you chicka! I feel great as well! TOTALLY feel you on the way you felt prior to going.. but that's all in our heads and NEVER compares to the looks and stares when your lifting and sweating like the big boys. :)

:-) I couldn't get past thinking how in the world could you look bloated?! OMG, if I had your figure, I would jump up and down for joy on my 'bloated' days and be over the moon all of the rest of the days! :-)

Sounds like you had a great workout! Awesome job!
