ONE MOMENT AT A TIME

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

How you manage the small obstacles in life is kinda what sets you up to overcome the larger ones.  Today was a shining example of that when I came face to face with a minor food crisis.  I was tempted to abandon going on two weeks of clean eating in exchange for a quickie with greasy spoon take out.  The thing to remember, however, is that in every tempting situation there is ALWAYS a way out…it may not feel like it at the very heat of the moment, but trust there is always a way out.  It may not be the way you want, but taking that escape will put you back on route with your plans.  A moment of quick prayer, a reminder as to why I started what I started , and a quick survey of my fridge contents and I was slowly able to get back on the road.  I didn’t eat my 5 meals today, but I did get in two quality homemade ones: (1) fresh green salad with lettuce, avocado, chicken breast, mango, red onion, carrot, cucumber, lemon pepper seasoning & parmesan cheese (2) steamed rice with veggies, chicken breast and  liver gravy plus daily fluid intake.  It wasn’t a perfect day, but it was a good day because I was able to maintain. And, when I lay down tonight, I know that I’ll be proud for sticking it through. Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own. Life is good. God bless.

THE BEGINNINGS OF SWEET SUCCESS - AGAIN

Monday, October 1st, 2007

Can you smelllllllllll what SEEKINGSUCCESS4 is cooking??? Lol (Big shout out to Dwayne ‘Da Rock’ Johnson).  Well, today was quite interesting to say the least!  When I originally signed on to body space, I was 260lbs and in need of a major boost to get me going.  This site, along with the instant friends made and support received, was just the boost I needed.  I did an instant mental check to place myself in the right frame & focus of mind.  Then, I did a health inspection (you know the whole survey your body naked, empty out & re-stock the fridge, create & layout new fitness goals, etc).  Needless to say, in the last week alone, I feel a renewed drive and raison d’etre.  I’m down 1.4lbs (it’s small as heck, but EVERY little victory along the way, especially in the beginning, counts towards keeping your head up to the sky regarding your ultimate goals).  I finally took all measurements today and really got a better picture of my not-so-healthy picture of health.  This is definitely the heaviest, most unhealthy, and out of shape that I’ve been in my life.  However, with that being said, I am still ever so postive.  I can’t afford to waste any time on pity-parties, woe-is-me benefits, or how-did-i-get-here socials…TIME WASTED CAN NEVER BE REGAINED!  I instead used that time to get in my morning workout and plan out my meals for the week.  I’m still working on getting a true workout routine started.  I begin running tomorrow and will continue with my regular in-home cardio (alternating tae-bo, pilates, weightless calisthenics, abdominal work).  As my dad says, “A house was not built in one day”.  I’ll change that around for me personally and state “My brick house will not be built in one day!” LOL So, I will go at it moment by moment, workout by workout, meal by meal, affirmation by affirmation, day by day :o ) To God be the glory for another chance to get this LIFE thing right & His UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!
