Blog Entry

How’d i do it? I get asked that question nearly everyday, and still do not have an answer to give those who ask. My tranformation is not something i can sum up in daily conversation. People want to hear what diet i was on, and i cannot tell them. All i can say is that i eat clean, but most dont even know what that means. How much cardio do i do? Thats another question i get, and girls look at me crazy when i say it doesnt matter and i hate cardio. To me the gym is about lifting, heavy. That scares people. but Cardio is just that annoying thing that comes at the end of a workout, i try my hardest not to remember it. So what advice can i give? To those hoping to look like me, you need to change yourself mentally. This game is ALL mental. No one else is going to be awake to send you to the gym at 6am. No one else is going to make you choke down another peice of chicken breast. No one else can push out one last rep for you. People will be there trying to destroy you along the way, because they are weaker than you, and to them your success means their failure. So if you really want to succeed you HAVE to build yourself up mentally. You LIKE the gym at 6am. Chicken is TASTY. You can look like a fitness model, no you will look like a fitness model. You are worth the work. And NOTHING can stop you.

Beautifully put. One of my favorite quotes is,

"Obsession is a word the weak use to describe the dedicated.."

People don’t understand that achieving ANY goal requires a commitment to think of it EVERYDAY and in every situation. It’s not something you can slam into a couple of minutes at the gym twice a week. It requires a change in thoughts and a commitment to not just the end result, but also to the joy of the challenge it’ll take to get there. Keep up the good work! Your words and looks are BOTH inspiring!

Thank you for this blog. I am teary eyed right now. I WILL one day look like a model. I don’t know you but you have inspired me.

SBunny - You have also inspired me! I don’t know if I can act on it, but looking at you makes me believe that it can be done, and by me! I understand totally what you mean about not being able to give anyone a plan that you’ve followed to get where you are, but that the mental determination is the key. I have definately had the yoyo weight thing, and a couple of times I’ve shed a similar amount of weight to you only to gain it back when I lost focus and committment. Now I’m older, and fear what I’ll even look like if I lose the weight - sagging skin, etc.. Right now I look young for my age, but take away the under layer of fat and I won’t! It’s one of the fears I need to get over. I’ve always like lifting heavy like you too, and hated cardio, although the lowest weight I ever got to was when I got up at 5 am to run everyday. I know once I get started and feel the motivation again it will be easier… If you have any tips for me - re: getting / staying motivated, and skin issues, I’d love to hear them
