Bulk
Friday, November 24th, 2006Damn I’m eating so much these days. I love the connotation of the word. "I’m bulking right now," I say when I am asked why I buy five dozen eggs. I want to get some measurements taken soon so I can check out my progress. I need to get new pictures as well, I think I am looking much larger. Adding a little cardio as rugby season is tapering off until next Jan.
The iron is so humbling, I worked out with a friend who just put up sick weight on the bench, made me feel tiny. No one understands but those of us who are infected with it, the addiction to the pump. I rarely miss a day these days, it is much easier and it is taking up much more of a role in my life as the winter goes on. Static X is great to work out to, very motivating.
The deeper into the rabbit hole I travel, the further I have to go. I can almost see no end and I relish in the fact. My back needs a lot of work. I haven’t even begun to chisel a quad sweep or etch out my hamstrings. My upper chest, triceps, forearms, and biceps peak are all on the agenda for this winter.
I’m in love with the dead lift, I almost want to take my straps to bed with me just so I can remember how glorious it feels when I can see the veins in my eyes as I raise above parallel. I think I will try and max it out tomorrow and get some calf work in. My friend inspired me to quit with my final 2 weeks of the 12 week program and get back to going heavy. "You gotta go heavy to bulk man," he said with a knowing tone, "it is the only way."
Indeed. Time again to put it on the line. 10 8 6 Style..
