Blog Entry

So, here is an update. I finally weighed myself yesterday. Went from 99-100.5. Adding some learn muscle. So many people ask about my ab schedule. Recently, I have two important changes. One is that I am doing fewer crunches. I have now started to include some time for sit-ups (which are killers for me…). I get flashbacks from that timed “How many can you do in a minute” exercise from high school. Yesterday I did 550. My abs are already looking even more cut from them. I usually take a break between sets. With the 550. I do sets of 50. Usually take a quick breather between sets. I’ve started also to hold the crunches. This fatigues the muscle more. So, doing it this way, I am not doing 1000 crunches. Maybe 300, at most. You hold for 3-4 seconds-contracting every muscle in your stomach as HARD as you can. I often will do this on the fitness ball. If you don’t have one, I would suggest getting one.

I also have been doing a lot of reverse crunches with a new mini ball. Its 4.99-you can get one at Amazon (FitBall Mini Exercise Ball FBMINI 9″ Dark Blue). It’s been tightening my lower stomach. The second major change is that I am hardly doing any cardio. I was a little hesitant at first. But, its time to cut back so that I can gain more muscle. This week, I barely did 15 min total. Its about one hr of weight training each day, apart from my abs. God Bless

Your fitness regimine is certainly paying excellent dividends. I admire your tenacity and drive to succeed. I know you’ll meet and exceed your goals.
I tried the situps, but due to 3 compressed vertebrae in my back, they are a big NO-NO for me. I’ll have to stick with the crunches. I did receive a Bean for my birthday and love it!! Thanks for continuing to be such an inspiration Chica. Much love!!!

Death to Cardio!! I also have cut way back on cardio, in favor of blood volume training with the weights. I am very much surprised by the achieved consistent progress, particularly in the vein department.
