Running and Weight Loss

Wow, I am simply impressing myself here lately with the amount of running I have been doing and the weightloss that has gone along with it.  Since I started running outside my endurance has tripled.  I’ve gone from barely finishing a 1 mile jog on the treadmill to going 3.5 miles more than once a week without a walking break in the middle.  (twice this week so far!)

And I’m losing weight too! I’m down to 204 pounds this morning.  That’s four pounds in about two weeks.  I haven’t been 204 for maybe 4 years.  So I am re adjusting my goals and hoping to continue on this fitness kick.  It would be so nice to be about 195!  And, my wife is trying to push me into running in a local 5k in August.  She’s being very supportive!

This is awesome!

I think it’s much easier to run outside than on the treadmill. I hate running on those things. Nice work, the 5k will be a walk in the park for you.

Good job on the running George, also great that your wife is so supportive. Go for the 5K, just another goal you can attain. Stay at it!

Great effort. You’ll be hitting the half marathon circuit in no time.

Keep up the great work and your wife is right you should try a 5k run! :-)

I love to run especially in the foothills behind my house with my dogs. I am getting ready to try some HIIT runs on one of the hills back there, we will see how that goes,it is pretty steep but it feels great when you make it to the top!! :-)
