Very Dissapointed…

Have not reached my goal of 10% BF in 2 years…I may never it seems, but I’ll be damned if I ever stop trying - something has to be screwed up in my body. Low thyroid, Sarcoidosis, something. I just have not been able to go below 200 lbs. My original goal of competing is Oct 2009 - this year too! Yet I have been hampered by the Sarcoidosis for about 14 months now. I just had a cardiac MRI done, came back fine. Had other cardiac tests and they are fine, but been having problems - must be anxiety/stress.

I know nutrition is the one thing I still don’t have down right, even though I think I do. This could be the trouble added on top of the other issues. Or it could be that I just don’t have the mental attitude to succeed. I better figure it out soon, October is coming. I only need to lose 30lbs too and I should be ready to compete. Damn. Wife makes it hard to when I don’t eat dinner with her, and have her food.

I have wasted 2 years of getting BIG by always trying to cut down…but I have to get the fat off the ABS first, then eat to get big. Can’t afford trainers around here - they want $70.00 an hour and up. Well, I’ll do what I can, that’s all I can do - but I can’t help but feel like a loser because of my failure….

With the right information it is impossible to fail.

Weight gain/retention is directly related to sugar intake most of the time, not fat and calories. By restricting your caloric intake your body craves the glucose it isn’t getting and you crave sweets.

One sugary snack WILL halt fat burning for 12-24 hours.

You could do ten hours of cardio a day and it wouldn’t matter if your sugar intake is high.

Read all labels and keep your sugar below 110 grams per day. You’ll be surprised how much sugar is in food and drinks when you look.

OK Tom, It is a bit frustrating, I know, I have been cutting for two years. Here’s what I do, I do morning cardio 6 days a week for an hour, first thing out of bed, after drinking a cup of coffee…just go 70% of your Max HR. You’ll burn about 1 Tablespoon of Bodyfat per day that way, assuming that you are at least creating a 500 calorie deficit. I do not eat clean, and I eat what my wife prepares, and sometimes, that can be different than what I would prefer…but the morning cardio seems to help burn it off. Eat something at least every 2 hours, and preferably protein: Protein Shakes, Protein Bars. Try for Chicken and Salad as your evening meal. I also eat eggwhite omelets with salsa for breakfast. If you are not taking Fishoil capsules, get them…they work…also try ZMA(Zinc Magnesium and B vit) It’ll support your testosterone. Most of all, don’t give up! Stay focused, and bear down; you’ll get there. That’s my two cents…Good Luck

Dude - you did not fail! Look at your previous pix!!!!! I was hoping of competing in a couple of Power lifting meets this year — but weight has been an issue for me too and I haven’t been training for over 8 months now…….
You still have a shot. If we did not have blood pressure and cholesterol issues —- I’d tell you to just take NoDoz-Aspirin-Ephedrine and just go heavy —- I mean HEAVY to failure mode! Get the mass and then suck weight 14 weeks before the show. Weeks of Tuna-Broccolli-chicken, and gallons of water. Cardio-cardio-cardio, and Tan once a week. 4 weeks before the show - use Preparation H on the abs area (trust me if you think that tightens up other parts of the body….. ladies are starting to use them under eyes to get rid of the bags). This worked with a few of the bodybuilders I worked out for the C-State shows………some of course had some extra help too—- but we are definetely too old for that!

YOU CAN DO THIS - You are almost there!
Keep it up — You’ve never failed in anything - as long as I’ve known you!!!!!!!!!!

You have only failed in your mind. Your body has undergone a miraculous transformation. Maybe when you stop beating yourself up and congratulating yourself instead, you will be able to go to the next level.
