To compete or not compete, that is the question…

So before I got my tasking letter for deployment I was training to compete in a show.  I bulked up from 185lbs to 210lbs and was making great strides.  But once I found out I was deploying I had to stop what I was doing and prepare all my "stuff" for the moment at hand.  I am now 200lbs even with the thought still going through my head on whether I want to compete.  I really just want to feel great about who I am inside and out and add some inches to my muscles.  i would love to have some kind of career in the fitness industry because it is something that I absolutely love to do and have a passion for.  LOL what I don’t have a passion for is bulking up and shredding down and putting my body through an influx that just puts me at both sides of the spectrum.  I wish I could just add muscle easier by doing it from a lean stand point year round but it seems that if I have any chance to compete and think about winning, I would have to bulk and then shred down like 90% of bodybuilders.  Oy, it’s a tough pill to swallow but I really have an itch to try it out.  Well, I guess I’m just thinking out loud (or on text) but anyways I just wanted to hear ya’lls opinion.  Maybe some others have felt the same way about "maybe" competing?

i hear you loud and clear buddy, ive deployed 3 times in 4 years… thankfully these deployments help me with the bulking part, and im able to cut when i get back, and i too and trying to decide about competing when i get back, or just to keeping adding to my body… i guess all i can say is try it out, see the other side of BB, "the stage and contest side". and let that help you decide if it is something you want to continue…

but i have a question too… im planning on getting quite a bit of ink put on when i return from this deployment, and i see you already have a good amount… it this going to be a problem? i don’t know the rules and how tattoos affect competition.

Yeah, I hear ya man. I wanna compete too and the thing is, my parents aren’t very conservative so they really wouldn’t support it and friends would think of it as weird(maybe need some new ones lol) but I think of it this way, I won’t know if I’d wanna do it or be good at it until I try. Plain and simple I guess. Plus, I’m sure there are more pros than cons and surely you’d kick some major ass haha.

I think I’m gonna do it then!!! And the question abou the tatoos I can’t really say. I love them and I’m gonna get more when I get back so I hope it isnt frowned upon though!
