What is possible?
Has anyone ever gained muscle while losing fat? Am I expecting too much? Am I not patient enough? Every time I have significant fat loss, I always seem to lose some lean as well. My body fat percentage is steadily decreasing, and that's good, but I am concerned that I'm not able to maintain my lean mass. In 8 weeks I have lost 5.8# fat and lost 2.6# lean.
I feel like I'm lifting heavy enough - geez, my knees hurt after a leg day, I'm not sure I should go heavier even if I could. I have found a few articles on this site that discuss simultaneous fat loss/muscle gain, but I don't know enough to know if they are any good. Should I try to change anything, or stay the course I'm on until I've lost all the fat I need to lose?
This journey to becoming a fit person is very much a unique experience, so I don't know if anyone can really help me. My instinct is to stay the course and be patient - because that is the harder thing to do. (For me anyway!

Yes it is possible... The main thing is make your getting enough protein in your diet. Tray to get in at least 4 meals a day all containing some protein and ensure your not going to far into calorie deficit. Good luck and keep your chin up, your doing great!

Thanks Maggie. You're right about eating enough protein. I thought this past week was going to be a wipe-out because I was eating more, but my numbers looked good.
