Perfect Workout Routine?

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

I’m trying to come up with the perfect workout routine to use for the next eight weeks.  I’m taking things that worked from previous workouts I’ve undergone and forming my most ideal workout routine.  Any thoughts or ideas would be extremely helpful!

Injured my back!

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Well, looks like I hit a bit of a snag.  I injured my upper back recently and I’m sort of iffy on how I did it. My chiropractor said it had something to do with one of my ribs sticking out, so I’m still sore from him popping it back in. I am trying to start back up in the gym on Monday if I am up for it, so we’ll see!

Been bad lately…

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Well, I haven’t been keeping up with my diet lately.  been going out to eat all week with the family and have been making smart choices at the restaurants, but haven’t been great with everything else!  I’m coming to the end of my 5 day break and will most likely start back up tomorrow.  Funny thing is, I look healthier and I have put on more weight without gaining a belly or anything!  Maybe I need to indulge a little more often!

Legs Are Killing!

Sunday, June 24th, 2007

Well had a great leg and ab workout today, and as a result I’m sore, as usual!  It was a pretty intense workout, especially with calves and abs.  I might be taking a couple days off to let my body recover, so I’ll probably start working out again on Wednesday.

Swimming?

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

I’ve been doing laps for the past couple of weeks on my off days and I’m just wondering if this is going to help or hamper any of my gains?

Major gains!

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Today I’m proud to say that in 1 year’s time that I’ve been working out I’ve gained 26 pounds, and in the past six months that I’ve been training and dieting seriously I’ve gained 16 pounds of mostly lean muscle mass.  I’ve still got 8% body fat so I’m happy with it!  My goal is to hit 175 by the next year which means I’ll have to gain 11 pounds by years end! It’s going to be tough, but I’m ready for it so wish me luck!

Chest Workout!

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

had a great chest workout today!  Everything went according to plan and I pushed myself really hard, but in the end, I ended up with a blood blister!  No big deal, but I accidentally pinched my finger between a dumbbell and the bench.  I thought I was gonna bleed on everything, but luckily it didn’t!

Exhausted!

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

I am physically and mentally exhausted.  I did my back and tris yesterday and that went great, and added to that I’m a team leader at my church camp, which is more tiring than you might expect.  I gotta hand it to the women, carrying those kids everywhere is murder on your back, especially if you’re sore from the day before!  I’ve got chest and biceps tomorrow so I’m super excited for that!

Muscle Logic Pt. 2

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Well I read some of this book, and I have to say this thing is crap.  Luckily I didn’t have to pay for it or else I would’ve been pissed as hell right about now.  He basically believes that you should be performing 15 minute workouts every other day doing only two exercises for 24 sets.  I couldn’t imagine holding down two pieces of equipment in my gym for 15 minutes let alone looking like a raving lunatic going back and forth between the two every ten seconds.  Weird book….

Interesting workout

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Well my leg workout was yesterday and everything went great.  Had fun and got a lot accomplished.  My leg press was a killer and so were my lunges, but I made it out alive!  ONe thing that I found very interesting was that I was alone in the gym except for one other guy.  He looked like a beginner because he was curling about 15 pounds and was obviously having a hard time with it.  The one thing I didn’t get was he then grabbed 55 pound dumbbells for his bench press.  Now, I thought it was a little strange that someone who can barely curl 15 pounds should be bench pressing that much.  Needless to say I was right, and the guy only pushed out three reps and they were some of the worst I’ve ever seen.  However, he kept doing it!  I didn’t get, because he obviously wasn’t happy with his workout, yet he continued with it.  At one point I was asking if the guy needed help because it was looking so bad!  It’s sad because he was a nice guy and I wanted to tell him he was doing everything wrong, but he had his headphones on, so he couldn’t exactly hear me.  Oh well.
