Team In Training

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

                                                                                      The 25th of August, 2007
            To Whom It May Concern,

Hello, my name is Chanelle Alessiandra Beecher, and I have decided to train with the Rhode Island Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for a marathon in January, 2008. I will be running the Walt Disney Marathon, held on January 13th. I will be provided a coach, a training regimen, nutritional advice, as well as a wealth of information which will offer me a promising result in Florida this winter. Besides the challenges of training for the 26.2 miles, I have accepted an oath to raise at least $4000 to support research concerning cures for blood cancers under the title of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Leukemia and lymphomas are the leading fatal cancers in young men and women under age 35. Among children ages 1-14, leukemia claims more lives in the United States over any other disease. These statistics portray the urgency of a collective effort to find a cure.

I am writing to ask you to support me in my quest by contributing as generously as you can to the Leukemia Society on my behalf. Your contribution will fund the research taking place to find a cure for all cancers. Significant progress has been made in the treatment of this disease, and with a common interest of further remedies as well as action, we can all work together towards saving current and future patients who have been and will be cursed with this malady. I appreciate anything you can offer, and I am certain that together, we may make a lasting change for the betterment of our world. Thank you for your cooperation,

A New Adventure Begins..

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

So week four came from my last routine..with free weights. I am not sure if any of you who have decided to read this have heard of Strive circuit machines…it is a new technology designed to target the muscle at varying spots witihin the range of motion. You can go to strive.com if you are really interest to learn more about it.

Anyway, I was feeling rather apprehensive about joining the "Strive Challenge" when I was asked to do so, though after some careful and thorough thinking, I decided to take the challenge on, with a few conditions in mind.

 1. Body Resistence Exercises are permitted–pushups, pullups, ab routines, unweighted squats and lunges, plyometrics.

 2. Cardio can remain intense

 3. Im allowed to work my forarms, traps and calves outside the circuit

I am in my first week of this routine, and I do have my doubts. Though I realized also, that doing this provides me a few advantages to my own routine. One, it provides a shock to my body, since I have not used circuit machines in over a year–also, while I am doing this, and pushing it as hard as I can, I also can study more books about form and details with successful practices for free weight routines, so when I am going to college in September, I will be more equipped with valuable knowledge so to boost my results tenfold. I believe I will obtain great gains with this as well, seeing as it is more effective than Cybex or Nautilous.

I will attack this plan with a strong conviction of a desired change, which I know will come to me. I am already feeling stronger in my decision. If you have read this, and have anything to say, anything at all–I would like to know your thoughts. Through sharing these things, we can help each other continue and grow.

I love training.

Vague, I know, but I am learning more and more about myself, about the world, and about bodybuilding each day I train, and everytime I read new material. I am training for a half marathon which is in August as well, but not for the speed, just to do it as a compliment to lifting.

The newest theory I have come accross as far as training, is to move as quickly as I can while maintaining proper form, and to pasuse and contract that muscle which is being worked as hard as I can to fully tire and isolate it. It is difficult for me to remember sometimes, because I focus really hard on form and the music, as well as executing my power to the best potential. I am catching on though, it is only the beginning of week two with this new mental strategy. I believe I will begin to make more gains quite soon with this. I’m going to  bring in a stop watch to time my rest sets so I can be certain of the accuracey.

I am not quite sure what to write here because I do not normally blog, but I would like to take advantage of this service because I think the resourcing I will be able to access is invaluable. I close this one out, a bit awkwardly, fo rmy writing style today is not exactly articulated to the best of my potential, though Im on a mental drag today. I’m not qutie sure of the cause, though I will go with it, and tomorrow I’ll be more attune to my internal dialogue.

Adieu

-Chanelle-
