The meal of my life!

Wow, last night’s meal was amazing. It was definitely some of the best food I have ever eaten. First we started out at the salad bar and I got a plate full of veggies with a small taste of a couple cheeses and cured meats. They had awesome smoked salmon, which is one of my fav foods. The bread was really good, i only had half a piece, i wanted to save room for the meat but these mini rolls which were about the size of a ping pong ball were seriously addicting. I think they made them with crack or something. I had 4-5 of them lol. Gotta live a little! They came out to the table with all sorts of cuts of meat for us to try, here is a list of what we had. (they give you like 2oz to try each)

Bacon wrapped filet minon
Bacon wrapped chicken
Parm encrusted pork loin
Prime Rib
Roasted Beef
Filet (medium)
Leg of lamb
Lamb chops
Italian Sausage
Pork Ribs
Chicken Leg

Of course I didnt finish a lot of my bites but I wanted to taste them all. I got seconds of the lamb because it was seriously amazing but a lot of the other meats i took a little bite and it was good, but not worth the cals. I had a glass of Cabernet that was great and definitely paired well with the mainly beef dishes i was eating. I really didnt want dessert but when the resturant heard it was our Anni, they came out with a piece of chocolate cake. I shared it with my Bo, so it wasnt too bad and ended up being a great end to the meal. Im definitely going back for special occasions.

 Today!:

Today’s plan is to work out at night with the Bo, do 20-30 mins LISS on the elliptical because my knee has been bugging me. I wanted to run today (especially after that huge meal) but I already have bad knees and i dont wanna make them worse. Then I plan on hitting the weights hard! Today is Biceps, Triceps and abs!

 Meal Plan for today:

Breakfast: 1/4 cup steel cut oats (i measure this uncooked btw after i cook it its like 1/2 a cup)
                1tbsp PB
                Coffee/splash of milk

Snack: Apple, a handful of almonds

Lunch: Not sure yet honestly, i have to look at what i have in the fridge. If all else fails I have a lean cuisine i can grab.

Snack: 2 eggs, 1 egg white. 1 cup baby spinach

Dinner: Thinking about making an acorn squash soup with grilled turkey breast.

 -Workout-

PWO: 1 scoop whey in water.

Im moving and I am not getting cable TV, i hope this will move me to stay busier doing other things, rather than sittin around watchin the tube. So, I will prolly be on the net more :P . But I think posting my workouts will help me stay on track. My friend started a log, and has inspired me to blog. haha im a poet.

 Today is a cardio day. I killed my chest and back yesterday and so today is a sort of easy day.

I did 15 min HIIT and cooled down 5 minutes on the elliptical to help my knees. Ended up goin a little over a mile, which i was pleased with for intervals.

Normally I would have Judo for 1.5 hrs at night but tonight is me and the Bo’s 2 yr anni so we are going out to dinner tonight.

 Today’s Meal Plan is:

8am: 1/4 cup steel cut oats. 1 small 85% cacao chocolate square melted in with 1 tbsp natty PB
        1/2 cup coffee with a splash of 2% milk
        1 small piece of fruit
        Multivitamin

11am: 4oz Grilled chicken
          2 cups baby spinach
          1/2 sliced tomato
          1/4 avacado

3pm:  1 scoop whey or 2 eggs
          carrots
6pm: Dinner Reservations at this awesome meat specialty resturant. Going to focus on getting a small salad, little taste of all the different kinds of meat they have, and have a glass of red wine. :) If i cant eat it all, ill just pack it and use it for my 9pm meal.

9pm: leftovers, most likely 3-4oz of meat

 

Steel Cut Oats vs. Rolled Oats

Today, i have lived. I took the extra 5 mins to cook some steel cut oats on the stove and OMG….they are amazing. I think they are def. more savory than rolled oats. More chewy and satisfying. I added in a lil cinnamon while cooking them, then put a tbsp of Natty PB and my daily small block of dark chocolate and BAM. Super rich amazing oats. I still like rolled oats, they are mushy and delish but this is a change ill have to make when i have the time in the morning. I made a couple servings so i can save them for the next couple mornings.

So what do you guys prefer, steel cut or rolled?
