Hiking For Discovery

February 18, 2009

I’m training to participate in the Grand Canyon Hike as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS’s mission.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

Men’s Rules

February 17, 2009

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down

Finally , the guys’ side of the story.
(
I must admit, it’s pretty good.)
We always hear

 the rules
From the female side.

Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered ‘1 ‘
ON PURPOSE!

1.   Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You’re a big girl. If it’s up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don’t hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports It’s like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport.
And no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That’s what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you think you’re fat, you probably are.
Don’t ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the   other one

1. You can either ask us to do something
Or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say WHATEVER you have to say during commercials..

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not
A color.. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched.
We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say ‘nothing,’ We will act like nothing’s wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, Expect an answer you don’t want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.. Really .

1. Don’t ask us what we’re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as football
or golf.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

Back to training

October 6, 2008

I have taken a week break from working out due to getting sick and finishing a couple of hockey playoff games (3 different playoffs).  I had a total of 6 games in 3 days.  Today I start my workouts again (excited to do so).  But my schedule will change due to the fact that I am now playing hockey on Sundays and possibly Monday and Wed. (instead of Tues, Wed, and Sat).  Sundays are forsure.  Monday and Wed are still up in the air.  Todays workout will be a little bit after dinner or after the tasting that I am going to tonight.

The açai berry is the crown jewel of the MonaVie blend. • Antioxidants

• Phytonutrients

• Essential fatty acids (Omega 3)

• Amino acids

• Vitamins and minerals

• Complex carbohydrates

Studies have also shown that freeze-dried açai powder boasts antioxidant capacity more than 15 times higher than blueberries and more than 20 times higher than raspberries. The final MonaVie blend incorporates the flavors and benefits of the açai berry and other healthful and delicious fruits.

Express Jet IE Half Marathon Riverside - 5K

September 2, 2008

This morning I recieved an email informing me that the 5k that I was going to run on the 14th has be postponed due to construction.  They are going to try to have it again in 09.  I am disappointed to hear about this because I was really looking forward to running that race.  I have been searching and found another one I believe a week after this one.  I guess on the good side I get another week to train.

Tues. Aug. 19, 2008

August 19, 2008

Besides a sore back I am feeling pretty good today.  Last Fri I ran 2.5 miles.  Saturday, I did a firework show in Garden Grove (reason why my back is sore).  Sun, I ran another 2.5 miles (intervals).  Monday, I ran 3 miles.  I started feeling a little pain in my leg.  Probably because I didnt rest after Sundays run.  Got in a pretty good workout this morning.  Arms, Abs, and Back.  Didnt work on legs due to having a hockey game tonight…and another tomorrow…lol

Blog Entry

August 5, 2008

The last weekend I didnt do so well…Pushed off my workout and didnt eat as well as I should have.  Partcially had to do with leaving town for work.  But yesterday I got back into my routine.  Worked on my shoulders and traps.  Then ran for 20 min. (about 2.3 miles).  Im going to have to step it up a notch if I am going to run a 5k.  My goal is not to finish last in the 5k.  lol
